[04:09] Microsoft Co-Founder Paul Allen has died from complications of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Vulcan Inc. said Monday on behalf of his family. His sister, Jody, said he was “a remarkable individual on every level.” “While most knew Paul Allen as a technologist and philanthropist, for us he was a much-loved brother and uncle, and an exceptional friend. Paul’s family and friends were blessed to experience his wit, warmth, his generosity and deep concern,” she said in a statement. “For all the demands on his schedule, there was always time for family and friends. At this time of loss and grief for us – and so many others – we are profoundly grateful for the care and concern he demonstrated every day.”

Malicious messages reportedly crashing PlayStation 4 consoles

[05:53] We’ve seen single malicious messages able to crash smartphones, but now there’s one for Sony’s PlayStation 4 console to look out for – users on social media and Reddit are reporting receiving a certain specially coded message that’s enough to put their hardware out of action. For now, you can set your PlayStation 4 and its mobile apps to only accept messages from friends you’ve already confirmed, or block messages completely: the options are under Account Management then Privacy Settings in the console settings. If you are hit with problems, one fix appears to be rebooting in Safe Mode and then rebuilding the database which shouldn’t affect your data.

Winamp is coming back as an all-in-one music player

[07:39] Winamp, the legendarily customizable music player, is being revamped as a mobile app that will give you one place to listen to all your music — including playlists, podcasts, streaming radio stations, and more, as reported by TechCrunch.

Players are exploiting Black Ops 4 emotes to peek around corners

[09:33] The first-person perspective in shooters usually brings an inherent kind of balance to the constant battle for cover—if you peek your head out to see an opponent, they’ll be able to see you as well. Over the weekend, though, Black Ops 4 players found the game’s new gesture system had the unintended side effect of breaking this balance, letting players easily and safely see around cover from a third-person perspective.

Pokémon Go Gen 4 Pokémon list, estimated release date: Every creature from Diamond and Pearl’s Sinnoh region listed

[11:57] Pokémon Go’s Gen 4 will offer 107 new Pokémon, the second largest addition of new creatures to the game since its summer 2016 debut – topping the 80 or so added in Gen 2, and close to the numbers we seen in Gen 3. These Gen 4 Pokémon are from the franchise’s fourth generation of games – Pokémon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum – and feature many evolutions of creatures from previous generations, as well as some new baby Pokémon and, as always, brand new Legendary creatures.

Epic Games Is Suing A YouTuber For Cheating

[18:24] Once again, Epic Games is taking a couple of cheaters to court, after the studio filed a lawsuit against YouTuber Brandon Lucas, also known as Golden Modz, and his partner Colton Conter that goes by the name Excentric. Lucas got into trouble with Epic Games after posting several videos on his YouTube channel with 1.7 million subscribers, where he is seen cheating in Fortnite and selling cheat tools via his website, which allegedly violates the Digital Millenium Copyright Act. Conter, on the other hand, would sometimes participate in these videos, which is why Epic Games included him in the lawsuit.

“Tournaments” Mode Coming to Fortnite This Week

[20:31] There will be a new “Events” section to the game, which you will find the available tournaments. “In-Game Tournaments are open to everyone and provide an opportunity for every player to compete directly alongside the pros for prizes and glory. Note that all players must opt-in for crossplay to participate in competitive events. During tournaments, players from all platforms will compete against one another as equals, regardless of if they are on a Mouse, Controller, or Touch input device. Every player will participate in the same competitions from start to finish, with equal opportunity to rise above the competition.”

Game developer Bungie has launched the second DLC expansion pack for Destiny’s Warmind. The game’s DLC pack contains several contents that include armor, weapons, Escalation Protocol mode, Spire of Stars Raid Lair, and locations, among others.

Bungie said that the Destiny’s Warmind new content would only be accessible for players who purchased the game or those players who owned the game’s expansion pass. But other players have noted that you don’t actually have to purchase Warmind to have reason to check in on Destiny 2.

The game’s updated version 1.2.0 would also kick off Season 3 of Destiny 2. This would bring several features to the game such as private matches in Crucible; an emote wheel, a new Ranked Crucible setup, changes to numerous Exotic weapons, as well the long-awaited expansion to Vault space, among others.

How Fortnite’s Battle Pass Works

With the much anticipated Fortnite Season 4, avid players of the game are expecting a new Battle Pass. Aside from this, a weekly challenges will also be made available. There are some new things to expect this season, but the challenges work the same in the past.

Battle Pass: Here’s what you need to know

Having said that the Week 1 challenges have a secret that players should track down if they want to level up. The price is the most coveted Omega skin, thus, get your hands as soon as possible.

Apart from getting the Battle Stars, if you would do all the seven Week 1 challenges would lead you to complete the first leg of the game’s Blockbuster challenges. This would lead you to load the screen called the Quite on the Set. In fact, the game developer said that this is only a part of the loadout.

You can actually customize the game’s setting during the pre-match loading screen. According to Reddit user Bfor45, the game’s loading screen offers players a subtle hint of the object being hidden in the gaming world.

As noted, the update has added a moviemaking equipment to the island, a quick check of the image shows a screen that is being filmed near the prison. A Battle Pass icon is faintly appearing in the background. You can actually head to the location and find the icon during the game.

What you will do is to collect it, and it’ll rank up your Battle Pass by one level. It should be noted, however, that players should be able to complete all Week 1 challenges for this to show up. This also indicates that players should have to buy the Season 4 Battle Pass to claim this.

The game’s Season 4 offers up Carbide challenges, among others.

BioWare Talks Anthem And The Lack Of Mass Effect: Andromeda DLC

Game developer BioWare has teased fans of the upcoming updates for its popular game Anthem. The company’s new game is slated to be released soon. With this, a company official has released studio updates which include, among others, the Mass Effect: Andromeda.

BioWare to release Anthem in 2019?

According to BioWare general manager Casey Hudson, the developer was not able to bring new DLC for Andromeda.

“As you know, we were not able to deliver story DLC for Andromeda—this was as frustrating for us as it was for players, and it was something we knew we had to solve in future games,” Hudson said in a blog post.

He added that when BioWare released the Mass Effect: Andromeda, there was a strong call from players for a story DLC that involves the fate of quarians. Hudson did not further issue some specifics but he admits that it impacted how the company worked on Anthem.

Anthem is actually an open-world action game. The upcoming game is slated to be released this year. It can be recalled that last January, EA had announced that Anthem’s release date would be in early 2019.

“That experience ultimately became a defining moment in refocusing BioWare’s mission. We need to delight players with new experiences and innovation, but we must stay focused on the importance of the world, character, and storytelling elements that players expect from our games,” Hudson explained.

“And our games must be designed to continue delivering new stories and experiences, in an ongoing relationship with players in the worlds we’re evolving together,” he added.

With this, Hudson said that they are working speedily on the development of Anthem. He wants the players to enjoy playing the game in a fresh world story and characters.

“It will be unlike anything you’ve played, but if we do it right, it will feel very distinctly BioWare,” Hudson stressed, who worked as a director on the original Mass Effect trilogy including the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

In case you don’t know, Hudson left BioWare shortly and returned in 2017 following the company’s upheaval.

Ubisoft: How Far Cry 5’s Microtransactions Work?

Avid fans of Far Cry 5 has expressed concerned about the use of the game’s microtransactions. Until now, microtransactions are still a debated subject among players.

The implementation of microtransactions varies, and they work differently at any game. The varied implementation of microtransactions has become a serious concern for several players.

With the release of Ubisoft’s Far Cry 5, we will know how the game developer implemented the microtransactions in the game. It can be recalled that the game developer announced that Far Cry 5 would include microtransactions.

In a Gamespot report, Executive producer Dan Hay explained that Far Cry 5’s microtransactions would not attempt to inhibit the gamer’s progress.

“We’ve set the game up to be generous. We’ve set the game up so…nothing is locked [away]. You can go out and explore, and the game will reward you for your exploration,” Hay said.

Here’s how microtransaction works?

In case you don’t know, the game’s microtransaction allows players to use real-world money to buy a premium currency called Silver Bars. The game’s premium currency could be used by players to buy cosmetic skins for their weapons, and vehicles. Not also that, players could use the Silver Bars to buy cosmetic skins for themselves.

Buying the cosmetic skins for players themselves is possible only when players are playing the game in Arcade mode. This situation is not clear as to how this thing would work considering that Far Cry 5 is a first-person game.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft has also confirmed that a full campaign of the game would be available offline. For players, this detail is interesting as they want to play the game in co-op and check the game’s online objects as well.

Ubisoft said that the game is now available for download in various gaming consoles.
