Boost Arena Launching Will Be On June 28

Boost Arena is a destruction derby game which will be launched on June 28. This “slither.io” style Destruction Derby Game has slick visuals.

The “.io” game craze was spawned by the likes of Agra.io and Slither.io a couple of years ago. It has provided a seemingly infinite wave of similar simplistic multiplayer games. But for some reason, they almost all look like crap.

boost arena

All About The Game

This game will have you frantically collecting “boost balls”. You will also be smashing open power crates before your opponents can get to them. It would be to their advantage if they get to the power crates first and snag up its contents. You will be armed with good weaponry. The player can use this to take out your opponents. You can also use the good old fashioned physical contact to take out your opponents.

To survive the game, you have to get to the crates first, smash them open and get the power ups inside them. Aside from gathering as much boost balls as you can, you also need to collect as much power ups as you can so you can defeat your opponents and take them out of the game.

How To Get Hold Of The Game

Developers have taken the time to make this game look good visually. If this game has captured your attention, you can click on the link on an iOS 11 device so you can pre-order the game in the App Store.

But if pre-ordering is not for you, then you can wait for the game to arrive on June 28. It will then be available in the App Store for free. So, let us wait till June 28 and have fun with the game.

What Remains Of Edith Finch

This indie smash which arrived in 2017 has recently won a “best game” in BAFTA awards. This is a narrative- led adventure in which you walk, first-person style, around as Edith Finch and exploring the house in which you grew up. It is sort of an interactive movie.

Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdon

The first Ni No Kuni game was a collaboration with Japanese animation masters Studio Ghibli. This game my not be a collaboration, but it retains the same charming art style.

It has changed the fighting mechanics and has a more action packed feel this time. It is not just about fighting, though. You get to build a kingdom in this game and earn bonuses for your character.

Into the Breach

Into the Breach is an elegant sci-fi strategy blast. It is made by the team behind Faster than Light, still one of our favorite PC games of the last decade. In this game, Earth has been invaded and almost taken over. You need to fight the aliens, defeat them, and save Earth.

Surviving Mars

In this game, you get to build an outpost on a patch of Mars, and have to keep it running to avoid your colonists dying in on the planet’s harsh surface. Surviving Mars looks like The Sims: Red Planet edition. However it’s closer to Sim City meets The Martian.

Final Fantasy XV

This game is a little different from the other Final Fantasy games. You travel around an open world packed with Americana-style buildings, all your companions are human and the combat plays out in real time, not as turns.

These are just some of the best new PC games you can find on Steam. You can check out the platform for more of these games.

Google Home Can Now Handle Up To Three Queries

Three Queries Can Now Be Handled By Google Home At Once

Google Home can now handle up to three queries at once. It has gained the ability to multitask with added support for a feature called “multiple queries”.

Google Home’s “Multiple Queries” Ability

The “multiple Queries” ability of Google Home allows you to combine two requests into one voice command. This ability was first introduced in November. Today, Google Home is getting even smarter about multitasking. It is now able to handle not two, but three queries at once.

The new feature was announced on Google’s Twitter account. But users quickly discovered its limitations. Unfortunately for Google’s global customer base, multiple queries is available in the English language for the t[me being, in the U.S., U.K., Canada, and Australia.

How The Feature Works

The feature works by combining voice queries with the word “and” in between them, to separate the different requests. Each command must be the sort of thing Google Assistant can respond to, on its own, without further input or clarification.

You have to be specific and give out detailed requests so it does not need to ask a follow up question.

The Beginning Of Google’s Multitasking Ability

Google’s multiple queries was first rolled out in November 2017 with a little fanfare. In February, Google Assistant gained support for Routines as well, which allow you to create custom workflows with a single voice command.

The company formally announced multiple queries for Google Home at Google’s I/O developer conference in May. It was then referred to as “Multiple Actions”. The announcement was done along with a other upgrades for Google Home Actions. It included Routine Suggestions. This allow voice app developers to prompt users to add their app’s Action to a Routine. It also included Action Notifications, which allows voice apps to alert users to new features and content, and more.

A Google Podcasts App May Soon Be Launched

0
Google Podcast

A dedicated app for podcasts may soon be available on the Google PlayStore.

Google Podcast

According to the folks in 9to5Google, the search giant is planning to have its own Google Podcasts app.

In the last few months, Google has really been pushing for more presence in the podcast universe. And this move will definitely help them gain more traction. In 2009, it launched an app called Listen, which was its first attempt at a podcast player. However, it did not live long enough and was completely shutdown in three years later.

Currently, Google has been building out a podcast client within the standard Google app. However, it is not easy to access. The company is apparently trying to change that with an actual Android app.

9to5Google spotted a snipped of code in the latest Google app which shows an inactive prompt which asks users to “Get the Google Podcasts app.”

Currently the app is not live yet but the folks at 9to5Google thinks you will be able to access the app HERE once it does.

Besides the code, they also saw a logo for the Google Podcasts app made of the iconic Google colours.

Toyota To Acquire $1 Billion Stake in Ride-Hailing Service Grab

0
Toyota

This is by far the largest deal a by a carmaker in a ride-hailing provider.

Toyota

This move by Toyota definitely marks the transition of traditional carmakers from manufacturing to services.

The Japanese company just agreed to acquire a $1 Billion stake in Grab, Southeast Asia’s biggest ride-hailing company. The announcement was made in a statement by Toyota earlier this week. The company did not disclose what percentage of Grab it will own.

According to a person familiar with the deal, the value of six-year-old Grab will be just over $10 billion after the investment.

“We will work with partners like Toyota to continue to transform transportation in Southeast Asia,” Grab said in an email to Reuters. “We want to be the one-stop mobility platform for users.”

“Going forward, together with Grab, we will develop services that are more attractive, safe and secure for our customers in Southeast Asia,” Toyota executive Shigeki Tomoyama said in a statement.

This is not the first time that the Japan-based company has invested in Grab. Last year, it also pumped in an undisclosed amount to the latter. Toyota also invested in San Francisco-based Uber as well as in Japan Taxi Co. Ltd, an Uber rival.

The car industry is really racing with tech companies to gain a level footing on mobility services. With the rise of ride-hailing and vehicle sharing companies, there is a lesser need for car ownership. Honda and General Motors are the two other big names who have also invested in ride-hailing applications.

The Vivo Nex Phone Has No Notch, No Bezels And A Pop Up Camera

0
Vivo Nex

Apple, Google, LG, ASUS all other phone manufacturers have been beaten to the punch by Vivo.

Vivo Nex

Vivo may have just announced the first ever true all-screen smartphone. Called the Nex, the company claims it “fulfills the bezel-less dream.”

For those who remember, an impressive concept phone called Apex was unveiled back at the MWC 2018 in February. It had a 98% screen-to-body ratio and the Nex phone comes close to that.

The Vivo Nex was unveiled in China and features a good amount of high-end specs. It sports a 6.59-inch bezeless AMOLED display. It has a screen-to-body ratio of 91.24%, which means it still has a tiny bit of bezel on the sides.

So how did they manage to do it? The China-based company added three new pieces of technology, that’s how.

First is the 8MP front-facing camera that pops up from the from the top of the phone’s body for selfies. Second, is the Screen SoundCasting tech that takes the place of traditional earpiece speakers. The tech turns the display itself into a loudspeaker so you can hear your friend talking on the phone.

Lastly, they have slimmed down the bezels by putting an in-display fingerprint scanner. This is actually the company’s third attempt to use the technology after the X20UD and X21.

Specs-wise, the Vivo Nex runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset and has 8GB of RAM. It comes with 256GB of internal storage and a heavy-duty 4,000mAh battery. The back sports a dual sensor camera, with a main 12MP f/1.8 sensor and a secondary 5MP f/2.4 offering. A LED flash rounds up the camera setup.

Oh, did we mention there’s a headphone jack?

Ethereum Classic was created in June 2016. This followed a major hack on the DAO, a fundraising vehicle for the project. The Ethereum Foundation created a new version of Ethereum. This rescued the lost funds.

Those who opposed continued on with the original chain which was known as the Ethereum Classic (ETC). Ethereum is the second-highest valued token after Bitcoin while ETC is on number 19, according to Coinmarketcap. The value of ETC jumped up to nearly 20 percent over the past 24 hours after spiking following the announcement of Coinbase.

The Introduction Of Ethereum Classic

ETC’s introduction date will be communicated in due course, via Coinbase blog and Twitter account. The company is announcing its intention to add Ethereum Classic ahead of time. This is to test integrations as part of its new policy on adding new tokens. They made this move also as a response to concerns inside trading when the exchange added Bitcoin Cash (BCH) last December.

The company investigated the incident. They saw service outages. Bitcoin Cash also experienced wild price fluctuations right after its addition to the exchange.

The price hit $8,500 at Coinbase. This was almost three times than the $3,500 ptice on all other exchanges. The company;s staff and insiders speculated that they could have profited by buying BCH on other exchanges. This is with the knowledge that it will be added to Coinbase. This raised the price significantly.

E3 2018 Command and Conquer: Rivals Announced

0

Command And Conquer: Rivals Announced By E3 This 2018

E3 announced their new mobile game this 2018, Command And Conquer: Rivals. This is a new 1×1 competitive real-time tactics mobile game. It is not often that E3 throws up something interesting on mobile.

It is a shame, though, that C&C had to be used to give a new mobile game some legs. But Command and Conquer: Rivals has some potentially interesting dynamics at play.

rivals

How Command And Conquer: Rivals Is Played

The objective of the game is ultimately to destroy the enemy’s base. You can do this by taking control of the missile silo in the center of the map. But you can also attack directly. you can achieve this by owning at least 2/3 of the launch pads surrounding the silo.

The Silo will tick up when you earn enough points. The opposing team will keep your progress if you lose control. When the Silo ticks up to completion, a missile will launch at whoever is not in control at that time. Rinse and repeat until you destroy your enemy’s base.

More About Rivals

Rivals share a lot of key points with another game called Mini Guns. The core gameplay loop is solid, and a lot of fun. Rivals present tactical problems. This and the constant jockeying of position over control points could give rise to a genuinely fun strategy experience.

How To Get Command And Conquer: Rivals

For those interested to give C&C: Rivals a shot, you can pre-register on Google Play. For Android users, you can go directly to the game’s website and pre-register as an iOS user.

Additional Information On C&C: Rivals

A pre-alpha launching of the game is scheduled soon. But only residents of Canada and the US will get to be invited. You can also read Endgadget’s hands on preview, which gives a bit more insight on the game.
