The hook of the latest adventure added to Hosted games is living Pride and Prejudice instead of passively experiencing it.  The latest adventure is called The Courting of Miss Bennet.  The setting is 1813 and you get to choose from a wide array of suitors.  The game makes you decide on what to do.  And, all apologies, no zombies on this version.  It can be downloaded for free.

Say Goodbye to Sony Playstation Vita Game Cards (and Consoles!) in 2019

Sony announced they would no longer make PS Vita physical games for US and Europe. They might also stop manufacturing the consoles.

Sony recently announced that they will no longer be producing the physical PS Vita games for the US and Europe. Digital distribution will still however continue.

Sony’s American and European branches “plan to end all Vita GameCard production by close of fiscal year 2018,” the company told developers in a message obtained by Kotaku.

It appears that the company’s game consoles may suffer the same fate. When asked by Japanese site GameSpark, the company confirmed that Japan will still get PS Vita cartridge games. But Sony did not give a clear answer on whether they will continue with the hardware production.

“Since in Japan we want everyone who keeps playing to enjoy an extensive game line-up, at this present point we plan to continue our marketing activity,” the Sony explained.

According to Kotaku, this answer isn’t reassuring at all because they did not answer anything about manufacturing. Instead, they chose to answer about their plans on marketing.

If indeed Sony will cease production of the PS Vita, it will not come as a surprise. The interest for the consoles has long died down, coupled with the high price.

Will you be sad to this particular game console go? Let us know!

Tamagochi lands on iOS and Android

My Tamagochi Forever (Credit: Bandai)

90s kids rejoice! Tamagochi, our beloved digital pet, has finally moved out of its err..eggshell and made its way to our handphone devices.

Here’s a brief history lesson to those unfamiliar with this pint-sized pocket pet:

  • It is created by Bandai, a Japanese toy company
  • The first Tamagochis were released in 1996 in Japan and in 1997 worldwide
  • It is a digital pet that needs tending to otherwise they actually die
  • Bandai (now Bandai Namco) released a newer, smaller version in 2017
  • It was first announced in November last year that the electronic pet will be available on mobile as My Tamagochi Forever
Tamagochi Electornic Pets

The app, now available for download for both iOS and Android, utilizes the ever-popular Freemium model where users can download the game for free but can opt to purchase or watch ads for bonuses and perks.

Although the app still has the original characters and has the same goal – taking care of your virtual pet –  it has a few differences to the electronic toy that took over the 90s by storm.

Aside from updated graphics, the app is also AR-ready. Users can explore the communal town called Tamatown where the pets to interact with others. There are also a few mini games that users can play within the app that rewards you with more coins and unlocks the different levels available in the game. You can now have multiple characters as well and you can even pick their outfits. And now with the touchscreen capabilities of smartphones and tables, users can pet and tickle their Tamagochis.

What they didn’t take away from the original game? The amount of poop that the pets can make. Apparently, this pint-sized pet can still generate quite a surprising amount from eating mostly apples and chocolate bars.

Throwback feels anyone?

A List of Games For Your Wishlist on the Upcoming Year 2018

In less than two weeks, we will be welcoming the year 2018. New trends, new people in our lives and of course, new video games to play! You might be asking, what are the upcoming games for next year? Here is a list of must-have games for your video consoles.

A Year Full of Fun and Games

Here are some of the much-awaited video games for you game geeks out there:

1. Harry Potter:Hogwarts Mystery

This is a new RPG for HP fans like me. You’ll be able to play as a Hogwarts student. You’ll need to attend classes and clubs to have a progress in the game. More information about the game can be found in this link: https://technewsgadget.net/2017/12/harry-potter-rpg-announced-to-be-released-on-2018/.

2. Anthem

A sci-fi shooter from BioWare that casts players into the role of a mercenary tasked with protecting a walled society beset by a variety of threats.

3. Days Gone

Similar to The Walking Dead, a group is set to survive the zombie apocalypse. Users might just hope that the graphics for this one is superb so that it will feel like they’re in a real apocalypse.

4. Marvel’s Spider-Man

Yes! Our friendly neighborhood Spiderman is here! Spidey’s going to swing using his web to our game consoles next year. A link about the details of the games here: https://technewsgadget.net/2017/11/spider-man-ps4-set-released-2018/.

5. State of Decay 2

Focuses more on survival than action and horror, this is a great addition to our list. State of Decay was a great game coming from a company with vision. On the second part of the game, it’s possible to play co-op which can be a big help.

These are just 5 of the bunch of upcoming games for next year. Stay tuned for more games and fun!

Biggest Games Coming in 2018 Are Already Lined Up

The year 2017 is almost done and was packed with a variety of great and exciting games. With 2018 coming near, are there any games worth the wait? Well, I’m happy to say that biggest games are coming our way in 2018!

The Biggest Games to Expect in 2018

With so many games to be released next year, what are the games worth waiting for? Here are my top 3 that I think should be on your list:

1. Red Dead Redemption

Rockstar Games is going to release a prequel of Red Dead Redemption. They are also the creators of Grand Theft Auto V.

This is an action-adventure game where it follows the action-packed story of Arthur Morgan, a member of the Dutch van der Linde gang.

In the trailer, you can see that the graphics are superb. It’s like watching an animated film but you can control it. What more could you ask for, right?

2. The Walking Dead Season 4

Who among you here are The Walking Dead fans? (Raise both hands — and feet!) I AM! I’ve watched the series since Season 1 and I got hooked! (My favorite character’s Glenn by the way). I always imagined myself to be one of Rick’s group and daydream about the zombie apocalypse. But Fandom saved the day!

PS4 and XBox users are going to love this new game by Fandom. Let’s admit that the graphics are not as expected for a Season 4 game but so what? I’m more on the storyline kind of gal so the graphic is just on the lower priority for me. For some it’s important because who would want to play a game with graphics for a joke, right? But let’s just wit and see.

3. Dragon Ball FighterZ

With All the characters confirmed so far, Bandai Namco Entertainment is proud to release Dragon Ball FighterZ in 2018. When I was a child, I used to watch Goku even though I’m a girl. I find action cartoons better than girly ones, so, yeah 😀

The gameplay borrowed some concept of hero games such as Marvel vs. Capcom. It has high-end anime graphics and a 3v3 Tag/Support Gameplay as well. It is said to support PS4, Xbox and PC and be released on February 2018.

These are just three of the most exciting game to be released next year. Stay tuned for more updates about more upcoming games.

Zynga now offers games in own website

The successful partnership of Zynga and Facebook has resulted into triumph for both companies. For years they have achieved more and more through their continuing collaboration.

Now, Zynga sets its sights out of the 4 walls of Facebook. The game maker is planning to expand its enterprise out of the famous social network and offer games at Zynga.com.

The company said in their blog, “On Zynga.com, players can meet and connect with others who share a love for social games and help players progress faster in their games by tapping the entire community to instantly get what they need to complete quests, obtain virtual items, and advance to the next level. Zynga.com will feature five of our most popular games at launch – Words With Friends, CityVille CastleVille, Hidden Chronicles and Zynga Poker. We’re also teaming up with third party game developers in an effort to make Zynga.com the best destination for play.”

According to VentureBeat, the company’s website will go online any time this month.

Zynga’s stock price has rose after they announced the decision to create an own website.

Will this move by Zynga be good for the company or would they pay the price later on?
