Leaked images of the rumoured S8 lite suggest an upcoming launch date very soon.
The Korean giant appears to be working on a watered down version of its last year’s flagship smartphone. And expectedly, it will come with a cheaper price tag.
Rumoured to be the Galaxy S8 Lite, it has already showed up on the FCC and TENNA certification websites as SM-G8750. Now, more proof of its existence has surfaced on China’s social media platform Weibo.
The images show a smartphone that appear to sport the same design as the Galaxy S8. Reportedly, it will come with the same 5.8-inch Super AMOLED Infinity Display layout screen.
While it may have the same screen design and size, the Galaxy S8 Lite is believed to have a lower resolution of 2220×1080.
Other specs include Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 CPU, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It is expected to run on Android 8.0 Oreo.
The camera will have a 16MP sensor (the S8 had 12MP) but it will have a less high-end system. The front facing camera is said to be 8MP and will may also have an iris scanner. As seen on the images, the phone also has the fingerprint scanner located beside the rear camera.
Do take note however, that this phone could possibly only be a released in China as early as May 21st. So if you’re planning on getting a midrange-priced phone, you might have to consider something else.
