An app for credit card processing

Here’s an app for business establishments.

Yesterday, Intuit released the free app GoPayment, designed to help businesses process credit card payments.

How does it work?

The app lets the user enter the amount to be charged and the customer’s credit card number. After the transaction is processed, the user can then email or text-message the receipt to the customer. Pretty convenient eh?

The transaction info is available from Intuit’s Merchant Service center.

The app that can be downloaded to an iPhone or iPod Touch is free but availing of the service is not. Those who will download the app need to create an Intuit GoPayment merchant account first. The account costs $20 per month and has a $60 setup fee. There’s also a transaction fee.

Intuit is the maker of Quickbooks, an accounting software that provide small business and accountancy software information and financial services. Those with GoPayment merchant accounts can synchronize the transactions with Quickbooks too.
