Google Is Reportedly Unveiling a Pixel Watch In October

A “reliable source” claims that Google is planning to launch a wearable tech under its Pixel product line.

Google is apparently planning to expand its Pixel product line with not one, but three new smartwatches. And fans wouldn’t have to wait too long as it could be available later this year.

The news comes after well-known online leakster Evan Blass, Tweeted about the Pixel watch. Apparently, his “high-confidence” source claims that this will be part of its fall hardware event. The watch will debut alongside the Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL and second-generation Pixel Buds.

His information also coincides with a German tech blog‘s report about Google’s wearables. However, they claim that the company actually has three smartwatches lined up with codenames Ling, Triton and Sardine. All three will reportedly run on a new Qualcomm processor that conserves battery life. It will actually allow the device to listen to voice commands without leaving the standby mode.

If this information checks out, it will be Google’s first flagship smartwatch that they actually have a say on. The first Android Wear watches were from Samsung and LG, both of which are obviously independent from Google.

The existing Pixel phones has made the Google Assistant quite an integral part of its system. If the Pixel watch (or watches?) happens, we can probably expect a similar setup. John Legend anyone?

Google Leak Suddenly ‘Confirms’ Expensive Pixel 3

A popular phone tipster has confirmed that tech giant Google would release the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones. Evan Blass has posted a tweet this week, hinting that Google may likely release the two alleged smartphones.

Is Google planning to debut new smartphones?

It cannot be denied that the mystery behind the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL has kept Google fans waiting. At present, Google’s best smartphones are the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. Blass also said that the tech giant would retain the company’s two phone strategy.

Although Blass did not cite who was his source, he assured that the information was sourced from a “reliable” person. He added that Google’s two phone strategy is an exact opposite of Apple Inc. which is moving to three iPhone X designs.

The web’s most popular tipster further confirmed that Google has already scheduled a launch date for both Pixel 2 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones. Fans of Google smartphones should also expect that both phones will be sold expensively.

Speaking of the rumored phone’s launch date, Blass claims that both Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL would be announced during the company’s annual inaugural hardware event. This event falls on October 4 and users should expect that both the rumored phones would dominate the headlines.

As of press time, Google has yet to confirm the aforesaid event. But other tech users suggest that Google would likely to announce the new phones come September or early October. By doing so, both the rumored phones would be the company’s last releases of the year.

Google Is Working On A Feature Only For Pixel 3

Search giant Google has revealed its plan to release its new flagship smartphone, the Pixel 3. The upcoming smartphone is actually a sequel to both Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL handsets. The news comes after a code was dropped on the phone’s page at Android Open Source Project.

Google Pixel 3 Rumors

Apart from this, Google might also add some exclusive features on Pixel 3.

“Cherrypick ‘Add device config to decide which Auto Selection Network UI to use,'” and that “This change added the config because the HAL V_1_2 only supports Pixel 3, and the new Auto Selection Network UI is based on HAL V_1_2,” a code noted as found by XDA developers.

Based on the code, tech users claim that HAL refers actually to software that links between Android and the hardware. This software is called the Hardware Abstraction Layer. A quick check of the HAL on the code is about a cellular connectivity.

And for the XDA developers, this is an interesting case because HAL only works on Pixel 3. They also pointed out that the phone would likely to include other features like radio and connectivity.

To date, there are only small speculations about Google’s rumoured flagship smartphone. What is clear though is that the search giant is also planning to release a mid-range version of the phone.

Regarding the phone’s specs and features details—all these are still nil. More details would follow after Google would release the details sooner.

Google Pixel Owners Report Battery Life, Overheating Problems

Both Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL owners went online to complain about the overheating of their devices. Aside from overheating, they also complained about devices’ lower battery life.

Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL owners attributed the issues they experience to Google’s security patch rolled out this month of February. To date, search giant Google did not release any statement.

Pixel 2 owners report battery , overheating problem

The search giant has yet to issue an official statement. Users have narrated their experiences on social media platforms. You will read their experiences on Reddit, Twitter and the product forums of Google Pixel 2.

Pixel 2 owners said their experiences vary. Others have reported that their phones are warmer even in standby mode. Other users experienced an increased in heat when they used the device actively for sending text messages and checking emails.

What we know so far is that the overheating and low battery life issues are not related to software problem. This is the claim made by community specialists of Google.

“Hello, because the issue persists even after a factory data reset it could indicate a battery or hardware problem. Please contact Pixel Support and work directly with them,” a Google’s community specialists wrote.

Meanwhile, 9to5Google reported that Google’s recent update has “taken a hit on the stellar battery life that Google’s latest flagships have provided.”

Unofficial Pixel 2 Portrait Mode Available For Android Oreo Phones

Both Google Pixel 2 and 2 XL have good reasons to buy them because of the devices’ specs. But one of the most popular features that users love is the smartphone’s camera experience. It cannot be denied that both Google Pixel 2 and 2 XL features a dual-rear camera that offers crisp and good photo quality.

What you need to know about Google Pixel 2 and 2 XL

Recently, Pixel fans were abuzz of the news that both Google Pixel 2 and 2 XL sports a “Portrait Mode” which are now said to be working on both devices. The debut of portrait mode in Google’s smartphone was made possible because of an unofficial port that is now available.

This development can be attributed to some XDA Developers. But these developers pointed out that such feature is still a work in progress. This means that those who install the APK should not expect that there will be a finished product at the end. What is clear though is that a few updates will be rolled out.

XDA Developers announced such feature earlier this month, January 2. They said that the mod was already updated. For non-Google smartphone users, they can also use the Portrait Mode, especially when taking images through the front-facing camera.

Meanwhile, other tech users claimed that the search giant actually did not impose a significant change in Google’s Pixel 2. However, they emphasized that the portrait mode will likely be excluded in the company’s flagship.

Also, select members of XDA Developers were able to acquire the Portrait Mode and tested on their devices from Pixel to other non-Google devices which are running in Android Oreo.
