Both Google Pixel 2 and 2 XL have good reasons to buy them because of the devices’ specs. But one of the most popular features that users love is the smartphone’s camera experience. It cannot be denied that both Google Pixel 2 and 2 XL features a dual-rear camera that offers crisp and good photo quality.

What you need to know about Google Pixel 2 and 2 XL

Recently, Pixel fans were abuzz of the news that both Google Pixel 2 and 2 XL sports a “Portrait Mode” which are now said to be working on both devices. The debut of portrait mode in Google’s smartphone was made possible because of an unofficial port that is now available.

This development can be attributed to some XDA Developers. But these developers pointed out that such feature is still a work in progress. This means that those who install the APK should not expect that there will be a finished product at the end. What is clear though is that a few updates will be rolled out.

XDA Developers announced such feature earlier this month, January 2. They said that the mod was already updated. For non-Google smartphone users, they can also use the Portrait Mode, especially when taking images through the front-facing camera.

Meanwhile, other tech users claimed that the search giant actually did not impose a significant change in Google’s Pixel 2. However, they emphasized that the portrait mode will likely be excluded in the company’s flagship.

Also, select members of XDA Developers were able to acquire the Portrait Mode and tested on their devices from Pixel to other non-Google devices which are running in Android Oreo.
