Nintendo: Stop Using Third-party Nintendo Switch Chargers

Several Nintendo Switch owners have complained of losing they’re save date on their consoles. This unanticipated problem has occurred after they used third-party charging adapters. Thus, the results, some Nintendo Switch owners were reportedly breaking their gaming consoles.

Why you need to stop using third-party Nintendo Switch chargers?

But the use of third-party charging adapters is not yet conclusive in this case. As some various owners ok Nyko’s Switch dock has also encountered several errors. Kotaku earlier reported that after Nyko has updated the firmware to 5.0 version, the console has started to act up.

A barrage of complaints could be found on Reddit, GameFAQs, and GBATemp, respectively. And here’s another Switch owner’s experienced about this unfortunate console problem.

Though the problem has surfaced, it’s still unclear whether Nyko’s dock is correlated with the experience of the above-mentioned Switch owner. We learned, however, that it is not just Nyko’s dock encountered the same problem.

What we learned so far is that this could be either an issue of using third-party Switch chargers, or perhaps not at all. Some console owners say that this has also a possible issue with the firmware. Upon learning this problem, Nintendo has stated to clear this problem.

“Unlicensed products and accessories do not undergo Nintendo’s testing and evaluation process. They might not work at all with our game systems, and they could have compatibility problems with certain games, the Nintendo Switch system itself, and other licensed accessories and peripherals,” Nintendo told Kotaku in a statement.

Nintendo Switch Hardware Update Maybe Coming Soon

Clues on a possible hardware update on Switch include a new processor and more RAM.

The rumour mill is churning and somehow it’s hinting that a new Switch maybe in the works.

The recent 5.0 firmware update didn’t deliver any major changes to the device. It basically expanded the console’s parental control settings, and fixed bugs on playtime data.

But the clever guys on Switchbrew (through Resetera) probably had plenty of time in their hands and found some interesting bits when they went digging. Hidden in the file updates is a folder with showing some evidence of a new hardware configuration codenamed ‘Makiro’.

First off, there is a reference to a new Tegra 214 processor, which would replace the current Tegra 210 system on chip (SoC). Although this is probably mostly due to security reasons, the new processor could also bring some slight performance improvements.

Recently there have been a lot of vulnerabilities discovered in the Switch’s current firmware. This allowed users to install the homebrew software which opened it up to pirated games. Although Nintendo was able to patch some of these, the new processor could be a better solution.

Another nugget of information discovered was a PCB update and RAM upgrade. Files suggest that Nintendo may double the RAM from 4GB to 8GB which suggests a more powerful model.

Researcher Mike Heskin cautions however that it is also possible that this model may be intended for developers only and will not make its way to the consumers.

Nintendo Switch: Update Allows Gamers To Add Facebook and Twitter Friends

Nintendo has rolled out an update for its gaming console, the Nintendo Switch. The update allows hybrid console users to add Facebook and Twitter accounts to their friend’s list.

The new feature comes with the release of Nintendo 5.0 update which fixes the bugs in the operating system. The update also includes some parental features.

Here’s what you need to know about Switch update

So how does the Nintendo Switch’s new feature works? The Nintendo Switch update allows you to suggest to various Nintendo Accounts. However, this only works if you are linking to social media users who are over 13 years old.

Apart from this, the Nintendo Switch update is bringing 24 new Arms and Kirby user icons. And if you are any of the Switch users who buy a game using your own PC or mobile phone, it would download at a faster speed even the devices are asleep.

The newly released update also fixes the problems encountered by Switch users like hiding the older play activity data. The update also adds a notification, especially when you pre-ordered a game that has been unlocked.

Moreover, one of the highlights of the Nintendo Switch update is the improved parental controls. The update gives parents the ability to enter PIN entry. Nintendo said the PIN entry can now be operated using both the stick and button.

Previously, the PIN entry can be operated only through an on-screen keyboard as well as some game titles which are outside of the device’s software settings.

Nintendo VR? It Won’t Happen Yet, A Company Exec Says

Virtual Reality headsets have really changed the gaming landscape. In fact, some of the companies have already disclosed details on their VR plans. Among these companies, back in 2016, was Nintendo which publicly announced that it would be looking into VR in the coming years.

Is Nintendo serious of its VR plans?

As early as 2016, Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima announced at an investors’ briefing that Nintendo was considering VR as part of the company’s strategy to lure more gamers in using their consoles. On the same year, a VR headset patent surfaced that time, amplifying speculations that the Japan-based company was serious of plan into the virtual space.

Fast forward today, Nintendo seems to abandon their original plan of looking into VR. This comes after Nintendo France General Manager Philippe Lavoué, in an interview with Les Numeriques, a French publication, expressed doubt that VR would really appeal to the mainstream.

“If you look at VR headsets, I doubt they can appeal to the mainstream,” Lavoué said as quoted saying in Ars Technica. “Consumers are not patient with entertainment if you’re not able to deliver an all-inclusive package.”

One problem cited by Lavoué was the TV display technology which he claimed to have not been adopted by the majority. He also downplayed the proposal, saying it is still premature for Nintendo to invest a hardware such as VR that has the capacity to have full 4K images.

“And what novelty would we bring compared to our competitors?” he said. “If we do the exact same thing as everyone else, we’re bound to die because we are smaller than them. With the Switch, we offer different uses, adapted to players’ pace of life. Its advantage is being able to fit into your daily life.”

No New Assets For Dark Souls Remastered , A Tipster Says

A report said on Monday that the popular game Dark Souls Remastered would not include any assets. The news comes after a popular member of the Souls community hinted of such possibility.

Dark Souls remastered won’t be looking for assets

VaatiVidya claimed that Dark Souls Remastered version would feature concepts from Dark Souls 3. This means that players of the popular game would be seeing familiar elements from the game in the new version.

The Soul fan, however, tweeted belatedly the game’s remastered version won’t be featuring any assets from the Dark Souls 3. The Dark Souls Remastered version will not feature an HDR lighting, especially for the PlayStation 4 Pro console version.

“So to correct a few things that I posted about yesterday – “Dark Souls Remastered will not include new assets based on the Dark Souls 3 engine or any combat differences.
There is no HDR lighting for the PS4 Pro version,” VaatiVidya tweeted.

Meanwhile, a separate statement issued by game developer Bandai Namco seems to confirm the information about the game’s apparent lack of HDR lighting and the information that it is expected to run at 60 fps.

“Whether you’re a die-hard fan of the Dark Souls series, or someone looking to take their first plunge into the series, you can experience an epic, dark fantasy universe stricken by the Curse in stunning, high-definition detail running at 60 FPS. Explore and build your character to create a unique gameplay experience with a wide variety of weapons, armor, and magic,” Bandai Namco wrote.

Obviously, the game’s apparent lack of HDR disappointed many of its avid gamers. This would also mean that the remastered of the game will be a unique version for fans.

Also, PlayStation said it would the game features multiplayer support which is expanded to include up to six people. The Dark Souls Remastered version would have a summoning feature, among others.

Dark Souls Remastered is slated for launch on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on May 25.

Nintendo Switch Is US’ All-Time Fastest-Selling Console In First 10 Months

Nintendo has nailed itself to be the best selling game console. The company’s Nintendo Switch was already saleable when it was publicly launched last year. The gaming console carried its success until the end of 2017.

Now for this year, Nintendo broke another record this year in the US. For staying 10 months on the market, the company’s Switch is, in fact, the fastest-selling gaming console.

Nintendo Switch 10-month sale performance

In 10 months which cover the period from launch since March 2017 since this month, there were 4.8 million Switch gaming consoles sold across the U.S.

The record-breaking sales of Nintendo have surpassed the previous home consoles within 10 months on the market. This includes Nintendo’s rival, Wii which sold at least 4 million units in its first 10 months.

Nintendo’s sales now stood at 2 million units through September. Apart from this, the company has also shared news about the performance of its various games in their platform.

For instance, Nintento’s The Legen of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has reached a rate of beyond 55 percent in the US. This translates to at least 2.64 million units, according to the report.

Also, Nintendo’s popular game Super Mario Odyssey has reached over 60 percent which is equivalent to 2.88 million given the fact that it was belatedly launched at the end of October. One of the factors contributed to it is the game Breath of the Wild which is available on Wii U gaming console.

Another Nintendo game that is performing well is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe where it its over 50 percent or equivalent to 2.4 million copies, and Splatoon 2 with over 20 percent copies or equivalent to 960, 000 copies.

According to the company, it expects that Nintendo Switch would surpass the Wii U sales globally by the end of March. It has also increased the production of Switch to meet the global demand.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild: Zelda Director Explains The Game’s Dungeons

Fans of the popular game The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild have something to cheer about. The game’s director Hidemaro Fujibayashi and Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma have shared some information about their design decisions of the game.

Fujibayashi’s and Aonuma’s statement came as game developer Nintendo is planning to adapt the Zelda game franchise. Both personalities are in tandem for the supposed first episode of the Nintendo Power podcast.

However, what is clear though is that the game will be more of an “open-world” format. Under such game format, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has actually drawn mixed reactions from the gamers-both good and bad, actually.

What gamers should expect in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild?

Fujibayashi, in an interview, revealed that his team would be focusing more on creating big fields in the Zelda game for players to explore. He noted that in the previous Zelda series, the game’s dungeon was very long. This time, Fujibayashi reasoned out that the team tinkered with the possible ratio that players can find the Shrines in the game.

Fujibayashi said that players could expect around 100 or so Shrines in the Breath of the Wild game. In fact, he added that his team is considering to construct a long Shrine and big dungeons. But he expressed doubt in pushing such plan because of the possibility that players may overstay in the dungeons.

Also, Fujibayashi said that players would only be staying in each Shrine for 10 minutes long. Aside from this, there are other growing concerns about the game. The time that players require to stay in each Shrine and the idea of creating gigantic dungeons invoked a certain gravity that would lead to the establishment of the game’s Divine Beasts.

Meanwhile, Aonuma further explained that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s Shrines double both as a warp point and short dungeons. Players can download the game for Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
