Fortnite Exceeds PUBG Monthly Revenue With $126 Million In Sales

Epic Game’s Fortnite is raking profit amounting to $126 million for the month of February. This is according to a report by game analytics firm Superdata Research. This means that the amount of money sourced from in-app purchases is huge. In fact, Fortnite’s revenue defeats its competitor, Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds.

Fortnite’s success now is not surprising, especially its famous battle royale-style game mode. This game allows 100 players to compete with other players. Set on a deserted island, you can win the game if you would be the last-person standing. It is no longer a secret knowledge that Epic Games has borrowed the game’s concept from developer PUBG.

What makes Fortnite saleable vs.  PUBG?

In case you don’t know, one of the strongest points of Epic Games’ Fortnite is that you can play it for free. Meanwhile, its rival, PUBG has earned a profit last February amounting only to $103 million. PUBG’s sales were sourced from the $30 purchases of software licences via Steam.

Worthy to mention that is that Fortnite makes a good profit through in-app purchases. Gamers usually buy cosmetic items such as goofy character skins as well as emotes. Avid players lauded the game’s multiplatform accessibility. The game was launched in PS4, Xbox One gaming consoles, and PC last year.

“Fortnite also has an easier learning curve and is more kid friendly thanks to its cartoonish looks. These factors have combined to make Fortnite a bona fide social phenomenon, inspiring high school exams and finding its way into sports celebrations,” said Superdata Research in its blog post.

“The title’s recent mobile launch also appeals to young players without access to game-ready PCs or consoles. Cheating in PUBG remains rampant, and Bluehole has been forced to spend resources fighting this instead of creating new content and polishing the core gameplay,” the research firm added.

Fortnite Battle Royale: Fortnite’s New Blitz Mode Is Fast, Furious

Avid fans of Fortnite Battle Royale could now download the game’s limited-time event called the Blitz mode. For gamers who actually tried the Blitz mode, they described their experience as awesome.

In fact, they gave them a good impression. Fornite fans branded the game as both fast and aggressive as it expands on smartphones.

Blitz mode gameplay

Just like any other traditional game, Fortnite’s Blitz mode is similar to the game’s traditional four-person squad. A player would start each match with a storm circle that was formed on the map. When a player was dropped on a certain island, the game’s countdown begins when the circle started to shrink.

Also, game matches begin with action with 100 players starting to descent in various towns. These towns are within safe zone so there would be no problem with that. Another aspect to note is that the game mode is intended for a quick session.

This means players can actually have an enough break. Game matches have been allotted to have a 15-minute time limit. As said earlier, the storm circle is shrinking rapidly from the very beginning.

However, the game’s actual matches are actually short, unless, you win the game. This is possible though considering the game offers a variety of weapons and gear.

Regarding resources, the limited game mode is, in fact, doubling your harvestable resources. By doing so, you would be able to maintain a faster pace. It also increases treasure chests, loot boxes but decreases the time between supply drops, among others.

Fortnite iOS: How To Sign-up, Invite Friends To Fornite Battle Royale

How to use Fortnite invite codes

Now, to use the Fortnite invitation codes, you must access first the Fornite iOS invitation. You can do this by opening the game via an iPhone or iPad. The invitation is available via an email sent to you by Epic Games.

Meanwhile, Epic Games said that Fornite Battle Royale in iOS is still in beta. The game developer announced that the game would add other features in the future. These features include visual cues to make spotting gun fire and enemies easier, among others.

‘Fortnite: Battle Royale’ Is Coming To iOS And Android Devices

On Friday, game developer Epic Games has announced that Fortnite Battle Royale is coming to both iOS and Android smartphones.

This means the famous free-to-play game will be accessed by iOS users first, then followed by Android users. Epic Games said that iOS users are required to sign-up in order to receive an invitation to play the first version of the game.

Fortnite: Battle Royale in iOS, Android

The Fortnite developer added that Android support would come after the iOS support is in place.

“On phones and tablets, Fortnite is the same 100-player game you know from PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac,” said the Fortnite development team in a blog post. “Same gameplay, same map, same content, same weekly updates.”

It added that the port is also expected for smartphones and tablets. The game developer also vowed that the game remains the same. Even the game’s 100- player games for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Mac remain the same.

This means that Fortnite has the same gameplay, maps, contents, among others. The game would also be receiving updates intended for console and PC version of the game.

And starting March 12, users would be able to start signing-up to get the gaming app. Those players who were able to receive the invitation could also send an invitation o their friends as well.

Meanwhile, if you want a full-version of the Fortnite Battle Royale for mobile, then Epic Games might be considering this in the future.

“We believe this is the future of games,” the developer said in a statement. “The same game on all platforms. Console quality graphics and action. Play when you want, where you want.”

Fortnite: Battle Royale Will Remove A Weapon This Week

Fans of the popular SMG in Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode should get in the game right now. The game’s developer, Epic Games is planning to remove the online shooter game temporarily on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Why Battle Royale Will Remove A Weapon This Week?

Epic Games also said that some variants of the Battle Royale would remain unstable as of the time being. It explained that the game is undergoing some development update.

And while the game is being updated, Epic Games has actually disclosed some of its plans. The game developer said that Battle Royale is expected to be rolled out on various consoles with 60 frames per second. New items are also expected but it, however, did not reveal what these items are.

Apart from this, the game features a specific gun called as the SMG. The aforesaid gun will be put into the “Vault.”

The game developer has since reportedly expanded the exact meaning of this. What is certain though is that SMG would be removed completely but it will be returning shortly.

“As we add more weapons, consumables, and other item types, we want to make sure that the balance of itemization isn’t ruined,” an Epic representative wrote on Reddit.

“Expect more items to be released (and likewise vaulted!) in the future. And of course, items will often come back out of the Vault when the timing is right,” the representative said.
