Let us compare Spyro the Dragon 2018 with its original version which is Spyro the Dragon of the 90’s. Spyro has been remastered. Yes this is real. And it will be coming out in just a few months.

It was officially announced that Spyro the Dragon Reignited Trilogy is for real. Along with the announcement was the release of a video trailer and some screenshots. With the help of these, we were able to compare and see the difference between the two. The remastered version looks better than the old version.

A Look At The Past

Nintendo 64 was considered as the most advanced gaming technology in 1998. Blocky character models, simple lighting effects, and 640 x 480 resolution was the status quo at that time. Spyro the Dragon, then was a masterpiece.
Spyro the Dragon was born in 1998 for PlayStation. It was considered as one of the best platforms in that era. Unfortunately, after the third game series , Spyro had trouble performing well. This prompted Activision to give up on it in 2008.

It has now been 10 years since a new Spyro game has been released. And although many thought it was dead, this is a hot topic this week.

Differences Between The Two Versions
Of course it cannot be denied that there are obvious differences between the two versions.

Advanced technology has made this possible. One of the differences is the visual effects. Visual upgrades were made on the 2018 version. The once simple background and effects of Spyro is now more animated and full of colors and images and structures. The creatures Spyro need to defeat have been upgraded also. Even Spyro’s looks has been upgraded. He is still the little purple dragon, but with different touches here and there.

Spyro the Dragon Reignited Trilogy will be available this September 2018. The remastered version will include the first three games, those games which were really good. Spyro the Dragon Reignited Trilogy will be available for PS4 and Xbox One.
