Xiaomi-backed Black Shark shares a teaser for their gaming smartphone and is set to launch this month.
Black Shark, a Xiaomi-backed company, is preparing to launch its new gaming-oriented smartphone on Friday, April 13.
The China-based manufacturer has confirmed the launch with invitations for the event held in China already sent out. This gaming smartphone thought to be aimed at competing with the first-generation Razer phone.
Black Shark’s teaser is a poster that shows half of the device. A message written in Chinese on the poster roughly translates to “Everyone has the opportunity to become a master”.
The company already previously announced on their official Weibo account that the phone will be running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. Other features of the phone include a 18:9 aspect ratio display, and a 2160 x 1080 pixel display resolution.
Additionally, the phone will have an 8GB RAM, a 32GB ROM and will run on Android’s 8.0.0 Oreo.
Do take note that this is not a Xiaomi phone on itself. The smartphone company is a major investor of Black Shark and is known to provide backing for other hardware startups in China. However, not all of them are put under Mi’s brandname.
Unfortunately, Black Shark’s gaming phone will most likely be only available in Chinese market. There is no word yet as to whether they plan to roll it out overseas.
