Intel Core i9 Processors For Laptops

Intel is bringing its most powerful Core i9 processor for laptops.

The i9 Core Processor

The i9 Core Processor is the first Core i9 processor for laptops Intel has ever built. It is said to be the best gaming and creation laptop processor Intel has ever built. The top of the line model Intel Core i9-8950HK. It can reach a speed of 4.8 GHz with turbo boost. It is the first mobile Intel processor to offer six cores and 12 threads. Intel said that it translates up to 29 percent overall speed boost over the previous seventh-generation Intel chips. This improved gaming by 41 percent and up to 59 percent faster 4K video editing.

Other Intel Processors

Along with the Core i9, Intel is also announcing the i5 and i7 processors for laptops. This will also be based on the company’s 14nm++ architecture (known as Coffee Lake) instead of the first wave of the eighth generation Kaby Lake R chips. The Kaby Lake R chips were enhanced versions of the same 14nm+ architecture of the seventh generation chips.

Unlike those eighth generation chips, these new i9, i7, and i5 Coffee Lake chips are part of the company’s H-series, along with Intel’s collaboration with AMD on the hybrid Radeon RX Vega M processors with integrated GPU’s. The Radeon RX Vega M processors are meant for thinner and lighter laptops for companies cutting down on space. The new Coffee Lake chips are designed for hardware manufacturers’ top computers where firepower is of chief concern.

Intel is also adding support for its Optane Memory, along with the new Coffee Lake chips. This additional support is to both the eighth generation mobile and desktop chips. This should help improve overall speeds as compared to more traditional memory systems.

Intel is also introducing new tel Core i5+, i7+, and i9+ badges to indicate that new computers feature both Optane Memory and new Intel processors even from the start.
