Have you ever heard of the app called Shazam? For those who answered no, this is a music-recognition app. This app helps users in identifying the title of the song as well as its singer.

Users will just hold their phones to the source of music and it will identify the song for them. It became one of the most downloaded apps when it was launched in the Apple Store.

Just recently, Apple announced that they have acquired this great app. With so many apps today, its longevity is considered by analysts to be unique. A strong install base of customers is what made this app last longer than others.

A spokesperson from Shazam said that there is no better home for it than Apple. But it is not yet confirmed if it will be a stand alone app or it will be absorbed in Apple Music after the acquisition.
