Game developer Square Enix is planning to release a pocket edition of its popular game Final Fantasy. The developer would release Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition this coming February 9, Friday.
Square Enix to launch Final Fantasy in iOS
News of the Square Enix’s popular game coming to Apple platform has surfaced after a listing was found on the App Store. Fans will be able to discover the story as it was retold in the Final Fantasy XV. The developer said that the game would have the same characters both for the console and PC versions.
However, the mobile version of the game is optimized, according to Square Enix. The reason why the developer made a pocket edition of the game is to allow gamers to play the game anytime and anywhere.
Fans of Final Fantasy would be able to maximize the game’s friendly touch controls. Using the mobile version would allow them to “tap to move, tap to talk, and tap to fight.”
The game’s pocket edition is compatible with iPhone and iPad models running iOS 11.1 or later. Specifically, the game works with iPad Pro, iPhone 6s, 5th generation iPad, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 4, among others.
Apart from iOS, the game can also be downloaded on Android, especially on devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop or later. On Android, the game requires at least 1.5 GHz CPU and at least 2 GB of random access memory of RAM.
Regarding the game’s storyline, Square Enix wrote: “After years of fighting, the nations of Lucis and Niflheim, at last, agree to an armistice.”
“As a symbol of this promised peace, Noctis, crown prince of Lucis, is to wed the Lady Lunafreya of Tenebrae. The prince sets forth for his wedding on the eve of the signing ceremony, sent off by his father, King Regis. Unbeknownst to Noctis, however, the journey ahead is fraught with perils..”
