Three New Photography Apps Are Launched By Google

Taking pictures is part of our daily routine nowadays — whether you admit it or not. Most people prefer selfies in order to have something to post in different social media sites. Now, Google is launching three new photography apps for both Android and iOS users.

With so many photography apps, people still look for better ones. Three new apps are coming our way and here is a sneak peek of their features.

Three New Photography Apps

  • Storyboard

Created for Android users only (sorry iOS peeps), this helps you transform your videos and images into comics. You can choose different layouts and designs. Customize all you want. Storyboard projects can be used for your business presentations or school projects, etc.

  • Selfissimo

Have your very own personal photographer in your phone. Strike a pose and it will take your picture. Feel free to move for a different pose and when you stop moving, the app will automatically capture it. How cool can it get?

  • Scrubbies

Last but definitely not the least is an app made for iOS users. Scrubbies lets you make video loops. It lets you manipulate the speed and direction of a video playback.

Whether you’re an Android or iOS user, these apps are worth trying.

Android Oreo: Here’s What You Need To Know With Google’s Android 8.1

Google rolls out a new mobile operating system for low-end phones. This new Android OS is practically designed for low-end devices.  Android users can now download sooner or later the Android 8.1

Meet the Android Oreo, Google’s new mobile OS. The reason behind the Android Go edition is simple. It wants to give users the freedom to use their mobile phones with limited random access memory or RAM.

With Android Oreo, this means that Android phone with either 512 MB or 1GB of RAM can run smoothly. If we are going to compare this , Google’s Pixel 2 has 4G of RAM while the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has 6 GB of RAM.

Android Oreo helps both latest flagship and old devices run better. Google’s reason is simple: make old phones run as possible with minimal impact to device’s configuration.  In addition,  Google wants to achieve storage improvements and performance in the Go edition.

In short, Google wants to optimise the usage of apps while taking less storage. This means that apps can launch faster at launch.

In a statement published in Google’s blog site, Google said that Android Ore has also an enhanced speed and reliability.

“We enhanced Android Oreo (Go edition) for speed and reliability on entry-level devices, which means the average app is now 15 percent faster on devices running Android Oreo (Go edition),” Google said.

So what are the Android Oreo’s components then? Android Oreo (Go Edition) has three key components:  Operating System, Google Apps, and Google Play Store.

In Operating System, users can experience a new data management features including performance and storage improvements. It has also built-in security benefits that offer a more stable features.

Users can also take advantage of the Google Apps. Under the new mobile OS, apps are built lighter and relevant to the specific needs of people online.

Google Drive and Chrome now available for iOS

Users of iOS devices such as iPad, iPhone and iPod can now use Google’s cloud storage service, Google Drive, and Google’s browser, the Google Chrome.

During the annual developer conference of Google, the company announced that both the Google Drive and Chrome are going to invade Apple devices.

Vice president of Chrome, Briand Rakowski, demoed the Chrome browser on iOS devices. This includes synching settings from a multiple devices.

Google also announced that the Google Drive, which enables individuals to store files and share documents via cloud, is now up and running for iOS devices.

Director of product for Google Apps Clay Bavor said, “We brought many of the best features of Drive to mobile.”

According to CNET, Bavor presented during his keynote address was the ability of images to be scanned and stored as PDF files in Google drive and the best thing is that they are searchable.

Google’s browser, the Chrome, is considered by many as the best browser out there in the market. Being a light on your system, it doesn’t slow your PC or laptop.

If Google can bring this to the Chrome for iOS devices, then this would be surely a hit to Apple fanatics!

UC Berkeley chooses Google Apps

And the University of California-Berkeley choose Google.

A University official released a a statement earlier this week that said, “while both products are feature rich and offer advantages over our current environment, the analysis concluded that the Google offering was the better overall fit for the campus at this time.”

The University looked at all the angles before deciding to choose Google as their new cloud-based email and calendar provider. They both looked and weighed the pros and cons of both Google Apps and Microsoft’s Office 365.

It wasn’t easy for them to choose Google as Microsoft had better scores in their security, contract terms and excellent calendar functionality.

Berkeley’s decision to choose Google was due to the fact that it was simpler to roll out and a lot of students and the academe are known to Gmail.

They also said that Microsoft’s old platform did not have “exceptional track records for performance.”

They also added that, “Google’s solution is optimized for web-based interaction. It is designed to be quickly provisioned and a migration to Google could begin more quickly than one to Office 365.” The integration of the system would take six to ten weeks.
