First Android Go Phone From ZTE is Now Available in the US

ZTE launches Android Go powered smartphone in the US market.

If you’re looking for a backup phone that wouldn’t hurt your wallet, this phone might just be perfect for you. ZTE just launched the ZTE Tempo Go, the first Android Go powered smartphone.

First announced last year, Android Go, is a stripped-down version of Android designed to run on entry-level smartphones. It is based on Android Oreo but optimized to run on smartphones with 512 MB to 1 GB of RAM. This takes up lesser space on the phone and allows users to have more room for apps and media.

The ZTE Tempo Go is designed to offer a usable Android experience in a low-end smartphone. At $79.99, you wouldn’t expect it to be at par with your hundreds of dollars-worth smartphones. The phone sports a 5-inch display with big bezels, has a 480 X 854 resolution. For comparison, the iPhone X has a 2436 X 1125 resolution.

The phone runs on the Snapdragon 210 chipset with 1GB RAM and an 8 GB storage. With the Android Go operating system however, this memory should not be an issue since it really does take up so little space. There are also apps in Google Play specifically optimized to run on this OS such as Chrome and YouTube GO.

For those who has plenty of media, the Tempo Go has a memory card slot that can take up to 32GB in capacity.

ZTE may be the first to roll out an Android Go phone but other companies are also gearing up for production. Among those is Alcatel which plan to roll out the Alcatel 1X Android Go priced at $100. However, this might not be released in the US as they are more interested in targeting developing market like India and Africa.

Alcatel 3C With 6-Inch 18:9 Display, 3000mAh Battery Launched

When I was in highschool, I remembered my first touchscreen phone was an Alcatel and it lasted for how many years because it was so durable though how many times it was accidentally dropped. I believe that this newest smartphone from Alcatel will surely give us a very high expectations with their Alcatel 3C.

Alcatel, a TLC Brand announced three of its upcoming smartphones this 2018 at CES. These are the Alcatel 1X, Alcatel 3C and Alcatel 5. However, last Wednesday, there was another Alcatel smartphone launched in Italy, the Alcatel 3C, indicating that the brand may have much more for this year than it had previewed at the trade show.

The Price

Android HDblog, an Italian site reported that the Alcatel 3C has been launched in Italy for EUR 129.99 (roughly Rs. 10,000), and it will be available in three amazing colors – the Metallic Black, Metallic Blue, and Metallic Gold. It will also have a fingerprint sensor that can be found on the rear panel.

Specs

Alcatel 3C wil be a dual-SIM phone that has a 6-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) IPS display, featuring an 18:9 aspect ratio as the highlight of the smartphone and the TLC brand announced that all of its 2018 smartphones will be having that feature too. So let’s expect to have that wide screen for our movies and series!

However, the Alcatel 3C’s Android version is not yet known but it is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT8321 SoC coupled with 1GB of RAM.

And lastly, for my favorite feature, well because I am fond of taking photos myself, the camera of Alcatel 3C will sport an 8-megapixel rear camera with an autofocus and flash and a 5-megapixel fixed focus front camera. It also has a 16GB built-in storage that can be expanded by a microSD card but the maximum capacity is still not specified yet.

The release of the other Alcael smartphones is still unknown but I am pretty sure that the TLC brand is doing a great brainstorming and lot of work the produce a great gadget for us!
