Similar to Gameloft’s Asphalt mobile game, Miami Street is playable on Windows PC and Windows Surface tablets.
Microsoft Studios just released a new single player racing game called Miami Street. The game is played in cinematic view (like the Fast and Furious movies) unlike other traditional racing titles. This means players have to navigate corners via quick-time events.
Developed by Brighton-based Electric Square, the game is designed for any Windows 10 device so it doesn’t have high graphics requirements. Microsoft wants this game to be accessible to everybody.
“Miami Street is a new kind of racing game, built for a broad audience who love easy to pick-up-and-play experiences.”
Microsoft fans would be familiar with its other racing series Forza, but this is different in terms of gameplay. Miami Street has an energy regeneration mechanic, which gets used every time a user participates in a race. There’s also a car repair system. Each car takes one point of wear when used and a repair kit is needed after three points of wear. Additionally, the game has Xbox Live achievements and cloud saves.
Miami Street has been given a soft launch on the Microsoft Store but it is not yet available in all regions.
