The new features for business profiles on Instagram include a simplified inbox and action buttons.
Soon after the company began testing its payments feature, Instagram announced a slew of new features for businesses.
To start, the popular social media app is trying to make it easier for business to interact with their customers.
The new simplified inbox now allows customers’ messages to go to the main Direct inbox versus the pending folder. Businesses will also be able to star and filter conversations to better manage them. Instagram also announced that quick replies feature will also be rolled out in the coming weeks.
Action buttons will now make it easier to “turn discovery into action”. These new action buttons include options like Get Tickets, Reserve, Book or Start Order. A limited number of delivery firms and payment processors partners will power these buttons initially. This include Yelp Reservation, OpenTable, GrubHub, Booksy, Eventbrite, Fandango, among others. More companies will be onboard soon.
Finally, Instagram also announced the release of in-product tutorials. These include tips creating engaging content, growing your community and planning posts. These tutorials ae accessible in the settings of the app, under Tutorials.
