Market researcher Sensor Tower reported on Friday that Epic Game’s Fortnite: Battle Royale has profited over $15 million. The game’s income was coming from in-app purchases in the game’s first month.
Fortnite is earning a lot from its popular game
Epic Game’s Fortnite: Battle Royale, what started as a free-to-play-game was downloaded over 11 million times globally. The popular game is now ranked No. 1 in Apple’s App Store. It can be recalled that mid-March, Epic Games has released Fortnite: Battle Royale to iOS players.
When the game was officially released in iOS, Sensor Tower noted the Epic Game’s revenue tripled compared to the earlier weeks. The market researcher claims that players actually spent $1.8 million on the first day of its launch. Meanwhile, the game is raking an average profit of $620,000 per day.
“The sharp increase in revenue is largely the result of new players entering the game’s mobile ecosystem, but we’d already seen a steady increase in mobile spending leading up to the invite system’s removal,” said Randy Nelson, Sensor Tower head of mobile insights in a statement.
“That can be traced in part to Epic Games experimenting with promotions such as the starter pack,” Nelson added.
Last week, game developer Fortnite earned $6.4 million of which the game is available on iOS devices. There was no plan yet as to the game’s version in Android, but Nelson said that it would “at least double the player base.”
“We think it’s perfectly reasonable to expect the game to continue as a top earner on mobile and consistently gross well over $1 million per day once it’s available on both platforms,” he added.
