The Cupertino-based Apple Inc. and its archrival Samsung were both successes in the smartphone market. But mobile company LG said it won’t be replicating the success that Samsung is enjoying right now as it would launch its LG G7 soon.

What is obvious right now is that LG is kept in the dark. Mobile users haven’t heard of the company’s plan for a long time. Now, a rumor has surfaced recently that LG’s top honcho has reportedly ordered the revision of a smartphone-LG G7-that would compete with Apple’s iPhone X and Samsung’s Galaxy S9.

Here’s what we know so far

BGR reported that the company’s CEO and Vice Chairman Jo Seong-jin, has expressed intent to revise the LG G7. Details of the LG G7’s revision until now is still sketchy, but a spokesperson of the LG said that Jo Seong-jin had ordered the G7 team to stop the development and conduct a “review” of the LG G7 from scratch.

At CES 2018, Jo announced during a media briefing that LG would unveil a new smartphone when necessary.

“We will unveil new smartphones when it is needed,” Jo said at CES during a press conference. “But we will not launch it just because other rivals do.”

If LG would push its plan, this means that mobile fans of LG would be able to see a new phone coming soon. This is because it would probably reset the LG G7’s launching back to April. For some, the company’s plan is confusing because it would be impossible that a mobile company could scratch and release a phone in just three months.

“Right after the vice chairman announced at the Consumer Electronics Show last week, a direct order was sent down to the working-level officials to start over,” an LG official said who was privy of the plan.

“A new decision on possible launch date will be released around the Lunar New Year holiday next month,” the LG official added.

Also, what we know is that the company’ soon-to-be-released smartphone would feature an all-screen design, a dual camera, and the possibility of using iris scanning.
