Blizzard reported that Starcraft 2, this new iteration of the StarCraft franchise, will be subject to testing by a select group of individuals namely, pro-gamers, press, shoutcasters and Arcade contest winners.
According to the company, “We will soon be inviting other players to participate in the beta, so be sure you’ve opted in by clicking on the ‘Beta Profile Settings’ under the Account Management section of your Battle.net account.”
“Signing up from a Battle.net account that’s actively playing StarCraft 2 will help your chances of being selected. Note that opting in doesn’t guarantee beta access,” Blizzard added.
In addition, the company is also working on other sections of the StarCraft community to provide them beta access opportunities. So those who don’t have Battle.net access will also have the chance to game test the game.
Blizzard noted, “To start off, we will be focusing on the multiplayer experience only. We’ve added an exciting array of new units and abilities to the terrans, protoss and zerg and we’d like to have as many eyes on them as possible.”
So those of you who are interested in testing the new StarCraft 2 game, keep your fingers crossed that Blizzard will choose your name!
