Sony Mobile has some bad news for its customers, as the company said that some of their 2011 handsets won’t be receiving their Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrades any time soon or not at all.
According to the Japanese tech giant, among these devices that won’t be receiving their OS updates are Sony Xperia Mini Pro and the Sony Xperia Arc S.
This sad development came from Sony Mobile’s UK product manager John Cooper who revealed this while he was answering questions from Sony users on the Sony UK Facebook Page.
According to Cooper, “Unfortunately Xperia Arc S will not be getting the jelly Been updated but we’re always developing new phones to make sure they have the latest updates.”
“Unfortunately the Xperia Mini Pro will not be getting Jelly Bean L Are you interested in any of the current Xperia range?” he added.
This comes as bad news to Xperia Arc S and Xpeira Mini Pro users as a number of them were looking forward to update their current OS versions to Android’s latest one.
But Cooper said that the Xperia S can now be upgraded to the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
He said, “ICS should now be approved for all Xperia S handsets. We currently don’t have anything to announce regarding Jelly Bean for the Xperia S.”
