Onto some not-so-good news for Samsung fans this holiday.
Users of Samsung Galaxy S smartphones or the 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab won’t be able to experience the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS as the they wont be getting it.
The hugely popular Galaxy S has sold almost 20 million units since it was first launched in 2010. The Verge notes that this phone has similar hardware with the Nexus S which will be receiving the Ice Cream Sandwich updates so a lot are wondering why the latter has been left out.
Samsung however, explains that the “experience enhancing” TouchWiz operating system, as well as other carrier-added software, might be too much on the phone’s hardware.
The company has just announced earlier this week that both Galaxy S II and Galaxy S Note will be receiving an Anroid 4.0 update slated next year.
