Believed to be a first, Shannon Jackson of Hendersonville, Tenn,, was arrested after virtually “poking” someone who had taken out an order of protection against her.
“Poke”, a feature on Facebook, is a harmless way to get someone’s attention. You know, just giving another person a cute, subtle hint that you’re secretly dying to have her attention without appearing that desperate like say, sending her a message. 😉
In this case however, Jackson’s poke caused her to be arrested because the order stated that she was prohibited from “telephoning, contacting or otherwise communicating with the petitioner,” according to The Tenneseean newspaper.
Police in Hendersonville were able to obtain screen shots of the petitioner’s Facebook page showing the “evidence” of the poke which was enough to get Jackson arrested.
Jackson, 36, was taken to the Sumner Country jail and is scheduled to appear in court later this month. And if convicted? She’ll be facing up to a year in jail AND a fine of $2,500.
