Rovio to release new version of Angry Birds, Pigs edition?

This sounds interesting.

After falling in love with the Angry Birds game and feeling happy whenever your pet birds successfully tackle a stage in the game, a new development has come to rise by Rovio and would eventually reshape the famed again once and for all.

According to Pocket-lint, Rovio has plans to launch a new version of the Angry Birds game later this year that would pit the pigs against the birds in a way that you never imagined before.

In this version of the Angry Birds game, you have to help the pigs fend off the attacks of the birds that try to reclaim their eggs.

Pocket-lint said that they have screenshots of the new game in action, but they failed to leak those images.

Rovio and Angry Birds just recently tied up with NFL team Philadelphia Eagles to develop a game that will be based on them.

It was only a few weeks ago when Rovio released an updated version of the Angry Birds Seasons. In this game, you play in a new world called Piglantis where you try to reclaim eggs in the water and air.

Would you like to exchange positions with the pigs and help them protect the eggs that they stole from the birds? Hit the comments box.

Angry Birds Seasons updated with Piglantis

The popular and addicting game Angry Birds has received an update to their best-selling Android and iPhone game in time for the summer season.

Angry Birds Seasons will dive into the depths of Piglantis, where users will battle it out with new underwater enemies.

Piglantis is set underwater, much like the famed Atlantis. Here you and your birds battle it out with a new breed of pigs.

The update is available for both iOS users and Android users. The game recently took you to the outer space with their Angry Birds Space edition. This was the first Angry Birds game set on a different dimension or environment.

Angry Birds Space involved gravity as one of the major factors that you fight with. Unlike previous Angry Birds versions, where you only need to knock out the different pigs and obstacles that blocked your way, the Angry Birds Space edition included the latter and at the same time the forces of gravity, which made the game even more difficult and challenging.

Angry Birds Seasons Piglantis, however, brings you to another dimension and a few more different obstacles and challenges.

Rovio has been very successful with the Angry Birds franchise. The company has been setting records on their way to smashing rivals games.

Have you updated Piglantis then?

Angry Birds now available in RIM’s BlackBerry PlayBook

Research In Motion, the maker of BlackBerry, finally announced Wednesday that Angry Birds will now be available in their PlayBook device.

Due to their less-than-stellar sales of the PlayBook which sold less than a million units, RIM is slowly changing its course and moving away from being perceived as business-focused and is entering the consumer arena. The popular game from Rovio Entertainment and its sequels, Angry Birds Rio and Angry Birds Seasons, may help shift that image.

The company also admits that a they still have a high inventory of the product which means that they have to do more legwork in terms of promotional activities. The delay of the release of the second version of the device’s OS (to be released on February) was also partly to blame.

All three versions of the game are available in the BlackBerry App World at $4.99 each. The games are not yet available for Blackberry smartphones though as these run on a different and older operating system.
