The EverCam
Anker’s home brand Eufy has launched a new wireless security camera called EverCam on Kickstarter. The EverCam is a 1080p entirely wireless security camera. It can be used both indoors and outdoors. Most security cameras need to be plugged in for power. But the EverCam has a battery that can last up to 365 days on a single charge. The device has already raised over $500,000 from over 1,600 backers.
The EverCam’s Features
The EverCam is water-resistant. Unlike other security cameras, the EverCam does not need to be plugged in or bolted on where you want to put them. It has its own battery and built-in magnets. You can cling it on any metal surfaces. But it also comes with a s crew mount if you want to use it. But the EverCam’s best feature is the 13,400mAh lithium-ion battery from Anker that claims 1 year on a single charge or three years on standby mode.
EverCam’s Other Features
Eufy has also introduced other features in the EverCam. It has facial recognition technology that helps the camera cut down on unnecessary recordings. It can recognize familiar faces, differentiate between pets and humans, and more. False alarms have been reduced by 95% by this procedure.
The EverCam is equipped with a Sony Exmor IMX 323 sensor with large f2.2 aperture. Its 140-degree wide-angle lens provides a panoramic view. The camera sends notification to users according to their security preference. Either alert the user on all movements or send a notification only when a stranger’s face shows up.
The camera has a 16GB MicroSD card that is protected by AES 128-bit encryption. All recordings can be unlocked and viewed only when the user plugs it on the base station. It should also be connected to a computer or a smartphone.
The user also has access to a cloud subscription.
Roughly a year’s video footage can be held by the card. The EverCam also gets Eufy mobile app support where live feeds can be viewed. They are also planning to add support for Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT via software updates. This will allow users to use voice commands on their Eufy EverCam.
