Avid fans of the popular game Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 would no longer be able to play a single-player campaign. This is according to sources who are privy to Activision’s plan; Polygon reported this week.

Single-player campaign to end on Call of Duty: Black Ops 4?

But Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s game developer has not fully addressed the issue. Instead, Activision pointed out that it does not issue a statement based on rumour. The rumor has originated from Charlie Intel, a popular fansite of the game.

“We don’t comment on rumour and speculation. We look forward to revealing Black Ops 4 on May 17th,” Activision told Polygon. For game enthusiasts, Activision’s failure to address the rumour is not an issue.

Also, a quick check of the Polygon’s article sounded like Treyarch’s decision to end the single-player campaign was attributed to “time.” It can be recalled that the game’s series has been moved from early November to October 12.

With this, game enthusiasts claim that this prompted Treyarch to eventually shift its focus on the game. Specifically, Treyarch has beefed up the competitive multiplayer and cooperative Zombies mode. And if such rumour is true, there’s a possibility that in the future players would be playing a Black Ops 4 battle royale game mode.

Meanwhile, Charlie Intel also reported that Black Ops 4 would have a battle royale mode. This came after recent report suggests that the game mode is being developed by Raven Software. The same company that previously managed the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.

Game developer Activision is slated to unveil Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on May 17. The game is expected to launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC come October 12.
