OnePlus 6 to have a notch, report says
The Verge reported earlier this week that OnePlus 6 would have the notch design. Such detail was disclosed by Carl Pei, the OnePlus’ co-founder. Thus, it is clear now that OnePlus smartphones have now bigger screen display.
“What you are essentially doing is moving the entire notification bar up, giving users more content on their screen,” Pei said as quoted saying in The Verge report.
The OnePlus co-founder claims that the notch design of OnePlus 6 is unique. He emphasized that the notch’s design is tailored fit in the smartphone. Pei also pointed out that OnePlus won’t be going to Essential notch as this would compromised other physical features of the phone.
This includes the earpiece, front camera, proximity sensors and LED notification light, among others. In terms of phone’s back part, OnePlus has opted to go back to the classic design. This means that OnePlus users should expect the material is wood.
In fact, a leaked photo of what appears to be OnePlus 6 has surfaced online. The OnePlus 6 purported photo was leaked by @evleaks, a popular tech tipster and leakster. The leaked photo, however, did not show that OnePlus 6 is made of wood. One details that would make users happy is that OnePlus retains the 3.5mm headphone jack.
A closer look of the purported OnePlus 6 revealed that a different placement for its fingerprint and dual-cameras. What could be seen in the leaked photo is that the fingerprint sensor is mounter at the rear of the camera. This placement is similar to Samsung Galaxy S9+. All of these remains speculations but all the given features of the phone suggest that OnePlus 6 is an exact copy of OPPO R15.
