With a number of apps out there that are being offered by different developers, smartphone users can certainly have a hard time finding the perfect app for them.

The definition of a perfect app may differ from one user to another. But one thing is for sure, an app that is a hybrid of a number of apps comes near to that.

Google is trying to make life easier for their fans with the new Filed Trip app.

Now online, the Field Trip app is a “guide to the cool, hidden and unique things in the world.”

Collating information from Food Network, Cool Hunting, Songkick, Thirllist, Atlas Obscura and Susnet, Field Trip gives the user a glimpse of what is happening in the city you’re currently at.

You need not watch your phone all the time, as Field Trip works at the background and will alert you once you are near a popular destination. Isn’t that great?

Field Trip has seven filters: historic places and events, offers, food and drink, architecture, lifestyle, outdoor art and cool and unique.

According to vice president of product at Google John Hanke, “The idea behind the app was to build something that would help people connect with the real, physical world around them.”

“It’s always running in the background, so it knows where you are and is always looking to see if something interesting is in your immediate physical environment,” he added.
