“Oops! I locked myself out of my house!”
This phrase has been uttered by millions of individuals who accidentally left their keys inside their locked homes. Ever had that feeling of being helpless? You can always get a locksmith to unlock the door, but that is additional cost that you could have used for other needs. That all changes with technology, as you can now use your smartphone to unlock and lock your doors.
Samsung is going to roll out a new way to check in and out of a hotel and at the same time lock and unlock your room doors. The company announced that they are experimenting this technology during the London Olympics, as they will install this solution at the new Holiday Inn London Stratford City hotel which is adjacent to the Olympic Park.
Using Galaxy S III by Samsung, guests of the Holiday Inn can do express check ins and check outs in the hotel and at the same time use the Galaxy S III’s NFC technology to digitally unlock their rooms. You simply present your Samsung Galaxy S III to the front desk to authorize your smartphone and sync them with your door lock.
But what happens if the battery of your Samsung Galaxy S III dies on you?
