Apple released their latest OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion operating system last Wednesday to the delight of Apple fanatics the world over.
OS X Lion and OS X Snow Leopard users will be able to download the Mountain Lion at a price of $19.99. Those who bought a Mac after June 11 will be able to upgrade to the Mountain Lion without paying a single cent.
Apple CEO Tim Cook announced the release during the company’s fiscal third quarter result. An Apple insider source previously suggested that the Mountain Lion will be released on the 25th of July.
According to Cook, “We’ve also just updated the entire MacBook line, will release Mountain Lion tomorrow and will be launching iOS 6 this Fall. We are also really looking forward to the amazing new products we’ve got in the pipeline.”
The OS X Mountain Lion features an AirPlay Mirroring, Game Center and improved integration with the iCloud.
Developers got a hold of the Mountain Lion two weeks ago to test the new Apple operating system. Since then, no issues have been reported regarding the Mountain Lion’s graphic quality and performance, media importing, networking performance and reliability and viewing or editing.
