So what does the hybrid of up and coming social networking site Pinterest and photo sharing giant Instagram produce? Pinstagram.
Launched about a month ago, Pinstagram combines Instagram and Pinterest, two of the most popular names in the industry, as of the moment. Now, people will be able to enjoy the consortium of the two companies, as it has now released their app for the iPad.
According to Mashable, Pinstagram combines a user’s Instagram feed in Pinterest’s signature waterfall layout. You can also pin your favorite Instagram image to a Pinterest board.
Co-creator of Pinstagram Pek Pongpaet chose the web and the iPad as the platforms because that is where Instagram is lacking.
“If people are already using Instagram on their iPhones. We’ll never be a better Instagram than Instagram, it would be duplicating Instagram’s effort,” he said.
The new retina display of the latest iPad was one of the main reasons why Pongpaet chose to create the app for the iPad. The former offers a high-resolution option and full functionality for the iPad 1 and iPad 2.
Mashable said, “You can browse your Instagram feed and popular photos, search keywords, like and comment. You can pin to your Pinterest boards and share to Facebook and Twitter.”
