With the help of Instagram, anyone can now turn into a posh photographer in an instant. No wonder this iPhone photo sharing app has caused a photo sharing frenzy over the web.
This once exclusive app for iPhone will now offer their services to Android users. The company announced that they are going to develop an app for the Android and will be available sometime this year. They also announced that from 15 million subscribers back in December, their population grew to more than 27 million members.
According to CEO Kevin Systrom, “We’ve been able to put together one of the most incredible Android apps you will ever see. It’s extremely fast.”
He added that he has been using an Android ever since he shattered his iPhone.
Systrom added that the app is still in beta version but will be released to the public “really soon”. They are also planning to develop an app for Windows Phone 7. He said, “It’s a very exciting time for us. We’re growing faster more quickly than anyone right now.”
Instagram was launch by Systrom and Mike Krieger a couple of years ago. They attribute the growth to the popularity of the iPhone. They were named by Apple as 2011 App of the Year.
