With the success of Amazon’s Kindle, Barnes & Noble’s Nook, and even Sony’s Reader, it’s not that surprising that other companies are also exploring the new and lucrative market of eBooks and eReaders.

The latest company to enter this market is Samsung Electronics America, Inc. which will unveil its first eBook devices at the Consumer Electronics Show tomorrow.

Samsung’s eReaders come in two sizes; the E6 which has a six-inch display screen and the E101 which has a ten-inch screen.

So what makes Samsung’s eReaders different from the rest? The company says it’s raising the bar with these new devices by upping the quality of writing capabilities for the eBooks. Using a stylus with a built-in electromagnet resonance, users can write directly into the display making it easier for annotations.

“We’ve used our expertise to create a high-quality e-book with today’s on-the-go consumer in mind,” said Young Bae, director of display marketing, Samsung Information Technology Division.

“Samsung is addressing a common frustration that users experience with many of today’s digital readers with a stylus that allows them to annotate their favorite works or take notes. Coupled with wireless functionality that enables sharing of content, this is a truly multi-faceted device.”

Both the E6 and the E101 are not backlit, so power consumption is very low. According to Samsung, four hours of charging power the device for up to two weeks. Other features of the devices include Bluetooth 2.0 and Wi-Fi for downloading content online.

Samsung’s eReaders will be available in the market by early 2010. The E6 will be sold for $399 while the E101 will be sold for $699.
