With this, social networking behemoth Facebook is rolling out a new feature that would rival Pinterest.
Called Collections, Facebook members are now enabled to engage with their FB friends and share things that they like.
To partner with Collections, Facebook has also unveiled their new “Want” button that promises to be a great addition to the website.
According to a Facebook spokesperson as told to TechRadar, “People will be able to engage with these collections and share things they are interested in with their friends. People can click through and buy these items off of Facebook.”
Currently, Facebook Collections has partnered with Pottery Barn, Victoria’s Secret, Neiman Marcus, Fab.com, Michael Kors, Wayfair and Smith Opitcs.
Facebook will not get a cut from purchases through their Collections features as of the moment. But this can be changed in the future.
The company is branding their Collections as a way for establishments and businesses to directly communicate with their customers.
This new feature is influenced by Pinterest success. With the latter’s 80% women userbase, the site has seen an influx of businesses using Pinterest as a base for their advertising.
