Google+ own video chatting service called Hangouts, is a big draw for the social networking site. The big draw of being able to do video calls with other Google+ users is making waves and raves. Now, the company is upping the ante when they decided that they could introduce and allow making phone calls to almost any phone number, not just within the social networking site.
This feature is currently only limited to outbound calls and is only available in your desktop. It is not compatible with you Google+ app on you smartphones.
Calls with the US and Canada are free, while you can buy credits if you plan on using the service for international calls.
It’s quick and easy. Click the “Invite” button in Hangouts, then the “+telephone” link. Enter the digits that you would want to call then hit “add”.
The Google Voice platform is the one that is currently running the entire operation. You can also place calls to land line and mobile phones using Google Voice’s integration into Gmail.
