So not exactly a big fan of Apple products but you want to get a hold of Apple’s latest digital assistant Siri? Look no further.

Android lovers can have a “Siri-like” app installed on their smartphones as an alternative to the iPhone 4S version. In fact, according to Taylor Wimberley of Android and Me, Google is developing their own version of Siri, it is called the Majel.

Well, here are some apps that you can install in your Android devices to imitate Siri’s likeness.

Iris – It’s Siri spelled backward. This was the first app created to compete with Siri. It has been downloaded about a million times since it was launched. The app has received fairly good reviews from users but it still has a lot of things to improve on.

Vlingo – This app has received critical acclaim from both Wall Street Journal and CNet. These reviews were written two years back. They say that this is “the original”. This app easily understands European accents way better than Siri which finds it rather difficult to understand other accents.

Skyvi – This app is advertising itself as “Siri for Android”. It has better reviews compared to Iris. One reviewer even commented that Skyvi “holds a conversation better than Siri.” Unfortunately, one down side of this app is that it does not allow you to send text messages or make phone calls using only your voice.
