Snapchat Launches Spectacles V2

Spectacles V2 Launched By Snapchat

Snapchat launches Spectacles V2 in U.K., Canada, U.S., and France.  It will also be available in 13 more European countries this May.  The $150 new V2s are $20 more than the old version.  It is available only on Snap’s app and site.

What Is Spectacles V2

Spectacles are sunglasses that capture your world, the way you see it.  They capture your perspective with circular images and videos, reflecting the way you see the world.  You do not have to fumble with your phone to capture precious moments.  Just press the button to capture an image or a video and continue with what you are doing.

They are water resistant.  So you can take pictures and videos any where, anytime, and under any conditions.  This make the Spectacles a very convenient item for any perspectives.  The Spectacles V2 is available in Onyx Black, Ruby Red, and Sapphire Blue, with different lens options for each.  So you can choose a style that reflects your point of view.

Spectacles V2’s Specs

The launching of Spectacles V2 is not a spectacle.  It has no hidden things and cryptic clues.  They are openly for sale in Snap’s top markets.  This ensures that everybody interested in it can have it before it does not become trendy anymore.

It is packed in a tennis ball tube which is 1/3 smaller.  So you can squeeze it into your pockets, or on your jacket, or a purse.  The older version requires a backpack if you want to bring it along with you.

The charging port has also been moved to the side so it does not fall off easily.  Spectacles are supposed to have enough battery and memory to record and transfer 70 videos over a week on a normal charge.  It should also have four extra charges in the case.

More About The Spectacles V2

The sunglasses itself feels sleeker and less like chunky plastic.  Users in the U.S. can order them with prescription lenses via Lensabi.  The lenses are more transparent, making them easier to use in lower light.  This does not make it restricted to sunnier days, although they are still UVA and UVB rated.

The box holding the hardware on the hinges are much smaller, making them lighter and shallower.  There is also an extra microphone on the Spectacles.  This is to reduce noise like wind, and other sounds and balance out conversations.

It can also record under water.  Diving in the deep with them is not recommended, though.  Just on the pool.  You can sync it to your phone via Bluetooth.
