Samsung debuts projector smartphone Galaxy Beam

Smartphone developers these days have raced to create a one of a kind device that would differentiate itself from its rivals. Take Samsung for example, this year at the Mobile World Congress, the company is set to unveil its latest creation. A smartphone that is equipped with a built-in projector.

Though the idea is nothing new to many, the company initially released its first smartphone-processor combo about a couple of years back. It clearly isn’t at the level of any projectors out there in the market. But the fact that you can easily share you photos and videos might be enticing enough to some.

President of IT & Mobile Communications Division of Samsung JK Shin said, “Galaxy Beam provides mobile freedom, enabling a unique shared experience around digital content for everyone-anywhere and instantly.”

The Galaxy Beam is an updated version of its predecessor. It carries Android 2.3 and its screen is 3.7 inches to a full 4 inches. Sadly though, the resolution stays at 480×800. It is fitted with a 15-Lumen LED-powered, nHD projector. The camera though was downgraded from 8MP to 5MP.

Still, many individuals wonder if this new technology will eventually be a click in the market. Knowing that not individuals are quite so receptive of the first Beam, why would Samsung rerelease it?

We might soon find out why.
