Facebook now officially owns Instagram

Facebook and Instagram deal is officialInstagram is now officially a part of the Facebook family. This after the social networking giant completed its billion dollar buy-out of the photo sharing service.

According to Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom, “Very excited to announce that we’re now officially joining the Facebook family.”

“I’m psyched for the next chapter of this long journey,” he exclaimed.

The Facebook-Instagram deal met some harsh times as American regulators investigated the deal. It was only last month that they closed the investigation.

According to Marck Zuckerberg, “For years, we’ve focused on building the best experience for sharing photos with your friends and family. Now we’ll be able to work even more closely with the Instagram team to also offer the best experiences for sharing beautiful mobile photos with people based on your interests.”

Although now owned by Facebook, Instagram will work on its own. According to RFK Solutions Ltd, this is a great move by the company as employees of the photo sharing app can continue to develop and improve the services of Instagram.

Mike Schroper, vice president of Facebook noted, “So many of us at Facebook love using Instagram to share moments with our friends. That’s why we’re so excited to bring Instagram to Facebook and swee what we can create together.”
