Facebook ‘Dating’ Is Finally Rolling Out: The First Look From Testing

Facebook has begun public testing its online-dating service called ‘Dating’ in Colombia. The company announced the service back at the annual F8 conference in May this year. If all goes well, this service will soon be rolled out to other countries in the future. Dating is already active in Colombia where users aged 18 or more can sign up to create dating profiles for the online service. But the company won’t start showing matches until there is enough number of sign-ups.

Instagram may divide hashtags from captions to end overhashing

Geofenced sharing, Quiz stickers, Stories Highlight stickers and a separate interface for adding hashtags to posts are amongst a slew of new features Instagram has prototyped or is now testing. The last one could finally #cure #the #hashtag #madness that’s infected many of Instagram’s 1 billion users, causing them desperately to fill up their captions with tagged words that make the feed tough to read in hopes of scoring a few extra views or followers.

Amazon’s 2018 Echo Show finally gets it right

When the original Echo Show debuted last year, plenty of people (including us) made fun of its chunky and bulky design. Well, Amazon must’ve taken those comments to heart, because the new Echo Show is decidedly much better looking. While the older Echo Show might’ve reminded us of mall kiosks, the newer Show looks a bit more like a smaller, cuter TV.

GoPro launches its first live-streaming camera

GoPro is launching its first camera capable of live streaming in an effort to woo investors and improve its performance during the holiday rush. The $399 Hero7 Black also features new stabilization technology, voice command capability and a new video format the company is calling TimeWarp, which compresses longer experiences into short, speeded-up videos.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Hands-On: We Played It On PS4, Here’s Everything We Saw

A number of GameSpot staff members recently had the chance to see and play a near-final build of Red Dead Redemption 2. The one and a half-hour demo comprised of two story missions and a chance to goof around freely in the open world, and there’s a lot to unpack about how the game looks and plays. Red Dead Redemption 2 feels familiar in many respects, but new systems have piqued our curiosity with their initial impression of intricacy and depth.

Fortnite: Cube Loot Lake Event Kicks Off the Wait for Season 6!

Why Halo needs a Battle Royale mode like Fortnite

For the last year or two the world has succumbed to Battle Royale fever in a way that has made older gamers, like myself, clutch their pearls and shake fists at the sky like Abe Simpson. Battle Royale, for the uninitiated, is a genre of video game where online players are dumped into an arena/island and invited to fight each other until one remains. Usually this involves guns and blunt instruments. The genre was popularised by PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and launched into the stratosphere by Fortnite, which is now far-and-away-without-question the king of Battle Royale.
