Oculus Go standalone VR headset is rumored to be launched at the F8 developer conference. This virtual reality headset will reportedly be launched by Facebook on the company’ s F8 Developer Conference this year.

Reports said that oculus Go standalone VR headset is likely to have its debut on May. This is sais the be alongside Facebook’s promise of the “biggest AR/VR news from Facebook to date”.

The first Oculus standalone VR headset was unveiled last October. It will cost $199 once it ships. It is designed to sit in-between the Gear VR and the more expensive without inside-out tracking or fully tracked controllers.

Xiaomi will build Oculus Go. It has a Snapdragon 821 processor inside. According to sources, it will have a base cost of $199. It will include a 32GB storage. A 64GB model will be available but at a higher price.

Oculus is also working at a standalone prototype with tracking. It’s codenamed Santa Cruz.

But there is a device which could complicate Oculus’ vision for standalone VR. This device is the Vive Pro which was recently unveiled by HTC. This device is a higher-resolution of the original Vive headset and built-in headphones and support for a higher adapter.

This could make it rough for Oculus. HTC is focusing on the high-end of the virtual reality market. Also unveiled by HTC is its owl all-in-one VR headset, the Vive Focus. There is still no report as to when the company will make this available in the market. But this should be the first standalone six-degrees-of-freedom VR headset on the market.
