The game called “The Sims” is the first game of its series. It was released for Microsoft Windows in February 2000. It was developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts. The Sims uses dimetric projection and features open-ended simulation of the daily activities of one or more virtual persons. These virtual persons are known as “Sims”. The setting is in a suburban area near SimCity. The franchise has sold almost 200 million copies worldwide. It is one of the best video selling games of all time.

A General Look At The Game

The game is available on both iOS and Android. It is simply called The Sims Mobile. The game is based on a self-imposed rules that task players with building and maintaining a family across generations. The Sims is a free-to-play game with social elements. It lets the players be virtual best friends with their real life best friends. This game also have features which allow the players to design their own characters and customize their own homes. Players are given indirect control of one or more Sims (semi-autonomous suburban dwellers).

The Evolution Of The Game

The game has spawned several sequels and spin-offs throughout the years. That is along with numerous expansion packs and re-releases. The original game was also released on consoles. PlayStation 2 – January 12, 2003; Xbox – March 24, 2003; and GameCube on March 25,2003. It featured a full 3D camera controls, a full 3D environment and a new single player campaign known as “Get a Life” mode.

Gameplay

There is no concrete objective to The Sims. Interacting with objects and making choices are made by players. They can then indirectly control one or more Sims attempting to meet their personal needs while experimenting with new opportunities. Players can be architects and home decorators by constructing and furnishing the homes of each Sims family.

Players start by picking out a Sims family from the “family bin”. And with $20,000, picks a vacant lot in the ten-lot street of Sim Lane.

Each Sim has their own characteristics. So players can choose and create their own characters. So this is just about it for Sims. This game will develop your social skills. Have fun playing with The Sims.

Facebook releases top social games for 2011

The most popular social networking site has released their top social games for the year. Heading the list is Playdom’s Gardens of Time, a modern version of the classic hidden objects game.

Facebook based their ratings on games that had the most active users and those who received the highest recommendations for the year.

Although not taking the top spot, social game developer Zynga dominated the list with ­their most popular game Cityville taking the 3rd spot, Indiana Jones Adventure World in the fifth place, the word game Words With Friends at the sixth spot and the army game Empire and Allies at the 8th place, the online slots site was also pretty close to the first places.

EA’s virtual world game The Sims Social took home the second place.

The Sims 3: World Adventures soon on iPhones

Fans of these little people have something to celebrate about.

EA announced on Thursday that The Sims 3: World Adventures will be invading to your iPhones soon. The company didn’t mention the exact release date nor the price for this expansion pack but don’t worry, it will definitely come to the App Store.

So what’s new in this release? Like in the full Mac version, your Sims won’t be stuck in the everyday, domesticated environment. Now they’ll be able to go to exotic places like Champs Les Sims in France, Shang SimLa in China and Al Simhara in Egypt with lots of new sights and adventures. It consists of fifty-two new goals and four new mini-games. There will also be new clothing styles, furniture and even new face types for your Sims.

Those who already have the original iPhone release can transfer their favorite characters and even content from in-app purchases from the old game to the new one.
