Potterheads rejoice! One of the most highly-anticipated mobile games this year is finally within our reach! Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is going to be available to play on iOS and Android April 25.

Jam City, the developers of the RPG game, also announced that the game will boast an impressive voice cast including original cast members. This includes:

  • Dame Maggie Smith (Professor McGonagall)
  • Michael Gambon (Professor Dumbledore)
  • Gemma Jones (Madam Pomfrey)
  • Zoe Wanamaker (Madam Hooch)
  • Sally Mortemore (Madam Irma Pince)
  • Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick)

Chris DeWolfe, co-founder and CEO of Jam City, explains why they chose to reprise the original cast.

“Our goal with Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is to make players really feel for the first time like they’re attending Hogwarts. By including these iconic and incredibly talented actors in the game, we come one step closer to truly giving fans their own Hogwarts experience.”

What to expect:

The game takes place in the 1980’s after Voldemort was first defeated. Therefore, this was before the famous trio – Harry, Ron and Hermione – attend the school. However, fans will get to be like them and attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Getting sorted by the Sorting Hat, learning spells and drafting potions with Snape are among the experiences you get to do.

Players also get to duel in the game but must follow specific rules. The mobile game sent out a Tweet explaining step one of five.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is just one of the two Harry Potter mobile games announced so far.

The second game is Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. Its developer is Niantic and is similar to the company’s breakout game Pokemon Go. No specific release date has been announced but Niantic CEO John Hanke revealed it would be coming in the “second half of 2018.”

Fallout: New Vegas Won’t Have Microtransactions, Loot Boxes

Fans of the upcoming video game Fallout: New Vegas may not expect something new. Once the game is officially released, the Fallout: New Vegas won’t feature a microtransaction. Obsidian, the game’s developer, announced this development this week through a public forum.

Obsidian, in a statement, has confirmed that the Fallout: New Vegas will not have a microtransactions or loot boxes of any kind. “The answer is simply: no. No microtransactions, of any kind, in our game,” the game developer said.

Fallout: New Vegas is Obsidian’s latest role-playing game. The Fallout: New Vegas was actually confirmed when it was announced on the sideline of GTA and Red Dead company. The Red Dead company Take-Two has a new indie publishing label—the Private Division.

Meanwhile, what we know so far is that Fallout: New Vegas will be published by Private Division. The company also expressed that it wants to implement some form of “recurrent consumer spending” in all of its games. Private Division’s plan, however, remains to be seen as to how it would affect Obsidian’s game in the future.

Why Obsidian picks Take-Two?

Further, Obsidian described its partnership with Take-Two as a fantastic partner. Both companies have inked partnership on several projects. Obsidian has selected Take Two because its workmanship is always aligned with the company’s vision.

“Far from ‘pushing’ us to put anything–microtransactions or otherwise–into our game, Private Division has been incredibly supportive of our vision, our creative freedom, and the process by which we work to make RPGs,” Obsidian said as quoted saying in a Gamespot report.

“They have been fantastic partners, and we are extremely excited to work with them through release, to put what we know is going to be an amazing game into as many hands as possible,” Obsidian added.

Apart from Fallout: New Vegas, Private Division is planning to publish a new RPG which is the Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey created Patrice Desilet, the person who created Assassin’s Creed. Another game is in the studio’s pipeline, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire. The game is slated to be released in 2018.
