Blackberry made a successful comeback in 2017 with the release of KeyOne under the Blackberry Mobile brand. Fans of the old-school QWERTY-type smartphone can rejoice even more now with the imminent release of the BlackBerry Key2.

The company’s official Twitter account posted a teaser for the upcoming event on 7 June at 10am in New York. The Tweet shows its plan to unveil “an icon reborn”, aka the BlackBerry Key2.

There are no other official details from the company but as usual, the internet is awash with leaked photos and info that we more or less know about it.

Images of the smartphone believed to the Key2 appeared on Chinese regulatory site TENAA. Based on the image, Key2 could be sporting dual cameras on the back. This is a change from its predecessor as the KeyOne only had one rear camera. However, the famous physical keyboard is of course, being retained.

Other specs expected from Blackberry Mobile’s next flagship phone include a 4.5-inch screen and a slightly bigger 3,360mAh battery. The phone is expected to run on the Android 8.1 Oreo OS with 6GB of RAM. It will come with 64GB of internal storage and 128GB of expandable storage through an SD slot.

There is no word yet on when the device will be released or how much it will cost.
