The game called “The Sims” is the first game of its series. It was released for Microsoft Windows in February 2000. It was developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts. The Sims uses dimetric projection and features open-ended simulation of the daily activities of one or more virtual persons. These virtual persons are known as “Sims”. The setting is in a suburban area near SimCity. The franchise has sold almost 200 million copies worldwide. It is one of the best video selling games of all time.

The game is available on both iOS and Android. It is simply called The Sims Mobile. The game is based on a self-imposed rules that task players with building and maintaining a family across generations. The Sims is a free-to-play game with social elements. It lets the players be virtual best friends with their real life best friends. This game also have features which allow the players to design their own characters and customize their own homes. Players are given indirect control of one or more Sims (semi-autonomous suburban dwellers).

The game has spawned several sequels and spin-offs throughout the years. That is along with numerous expansion packs and re-releases. The original game was also released on consoles. PlayStation 2 – January 12, 2003; Xbox – March 24, 2003; and GameCube on March 25,2003. It featured a full 3D camera controls, a full 3D environment and a new single player campaign known as “Get a Life” mode.

Gameplay

There is no concrete objective to The Sims. Interacting with objects and making choices are made by players. They can then indirectly control one or more Sims attempting to meet their personal needs while experimenting with new opportunities. Players can be architects and home decorators by constructing and furnishing the homes of each Sims family.

Players start by picking out a Sims family from the “family bin”. And with $20,000, picks a vacant lot in the ten-lot street of Sim Lane.
