Texture

By 2019, tech giant Apple Inc. has something new to offer to its customers. The Cupertino-based company is planning to offer a subscription-based news service for Texture, Bloomberg reported this week.

Apple will soon roll-out a news subscription service

However, the tech giant has reportedly declined to issue a statement in reaction to Bloomberg report. According to Bloomberg, Apple’s subscription-based news service will be part of Texture.

Texture is actually a digital magazine app, and it would be integrated into the company’s Apple News app. The company’s news app would be available for both iPhone and iPad. To date, this remains pending as an agreement between the company and Apple should be produced before its approval.

“We are committed to quality journalism from trusted sources and allowing magazines to keep producing beautifully designed and engaging stories for users,” Apple’s services chief Eddy Cue said, detailing Apple’s plan on acquiring Texture.

The digital magazine app has provided unlimited access to more than 200 digital magazines. The subscription fee is pegged at $9.99 a month. In Texture, you can read various magazine titles such as People, Vogue, Rolling Stone, and National Geographic.

Included also were GQ, Sports Illustrated, Wired, Maxim, Men’s Health, GQ, Bloomberg Businessweek, ESPN The Magazine, as well Entertainment Weekly. Regarding business model, Apple’s news service would likely be similar to Apple Music.

While Apple Music offers unlimited music streaming service for $9.99 a month, Texture would be both for news and magazines.
