For this year’s Game Developers Choice Award, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was adjudged as the Game of the Year. Zelda’s Breath of the Wild also walked off with the Best Audio and Best Design awards, respectively.

Other nominees in the Game of the Year category were PUBG, Nier: Automata, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Super Mario Odyssey.

Both the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Horizon: Zero Dawn were reportedly leading the six nominations. The annual GDC awards night was hosted by a game design professor at UC Santa Cruz in person of Robin Hunicke. He is also the founder of Funomena.

Another popular game Cuphead won the Best Visual Art and Best Debut awards. While a puzzle game developed by Jason Roberts called the Gorogoa grabbed the Innovation Award and Best Mobile game title. In case you don’t know, Gorogoa was published by Annapurna Interactive.
