Search giant Google has added a new member to its Go line apps: the Gmail Go, TechCrunch reported on Friday.

What is Gmail Go?

Google said the Gmail Go is actually a slimmed down version of the original Gmail app. The Gmail Go app is meant for low-end smartphones. These phones have only basic applications and are using lower-end processors.

But Google’s Go apps version could still provide basic functionalities while consuming less space and memory. And like other Go versions of Google apps like Google Maps Go, YouTube Go and Files Go, the Gmail lightweight app also consumes a lower data.

What’s amazing with Google’s Gmail lightweight app  is that it supports multiple accounts. Google’s Gmail lightweight app  also has an automatic social and promotional filters for emails. These filters prioritize emails coming from your family and friends.

And Gmail lightweight app users could receive notifications with 15 GB free storage. Gmail users could eventually read and respond to emails online and offline.

However, some features would not be included in the loading of images automatically. The reason this feature is lacking in the Gmail lite app is that it consumes less ROM and RAM.

Once downloaded, the Gmail Go app would only take 25 MB space on your phone once installed. The original Gmail app takes 47 MB storage space with a 20.66 MB download.
