In 2012, social media giant Facebook has acquired Instagram, a platform where users can post their photos online. Since then, Instagram has undergone major changes in terms of content platform, a report from TechCrunch said.

Instagram’s philosophy is simple: make your photo beautify and share it to your online circle of friends. This is very evident when you navigate your friends’ photo by doing a simple scroll and tap.

In fact, Instagram users can now upload videos and animated gifs through a separate app called the Boomerang. The popular photo sharing app has also a unique algorithm that helps its users push in other’s feed.  The Instagram app has also a direct messaging system.

This time, Instagram is now rolling out another innovative change  as it will launch the Instagram Direct app.

However, the Instagram Direct app is not for all because the app is still in the testing phase. The app is available only in Uruguay, Turkey, Chile, Italy, Portugal and Israel.

“We want Instagram to be a place for all of your moments, and private sharing with close friends is a big part of that,” Instagram said.

“To make it easier and more fun for people to connect in this way, we are beginning to test Direct – a camera-first app that connects seamlessly back to Instagram,” the company added.

But Instagram’s move triggers several questions. Users claim that it do not see any valid reason why Instagram develops a single Messaging app. In 2013,  Direct app was officially launched as a tool to select share and photos with your families and friends.
